I dont know why anyone would pay anything at all for a 350Z intake.

Isn't the 7 HP difference between the Z and G in the exhaust system?

I would pay about $30 shipped. That is what a few guys on Freshalloy have gotten for it.

So are you guys saying the 7 hp difference is in the intake?

I always thought it was the exhaust.

I paid $75.00 brand new. The exhaust system is the same between, just 7" difference in length. Even if you put a "Z" tube on the "G", you still don't have all the advantages of the "Z". The "Z" intake is lower and right behind the grill. The "G" is higher, smaller (although there is a side wing) and seals against the hood, but it is fed by air from the grill. However, putting the Z tube on the G is a big improvement. I'll say it again, IMHO, the intake on the Z is just about perfect, put a K&N on it, and it is perfect.

Okay, that's understandable.....but if the difference is only 7 horsepower, and you "still don't have all the advantages of the Z", then just how much HP do you expect to get out of using the Z parts?

2 or 3 HP?

Is it really worth it? Even for 7 HP would it really be worth it?

The "G" Intake box flows better than the "Z"? How do you know this? Just from my observation, it seemed to me that the "Z" would flow better because of it's location. I hope your right however, but please clarify.

I realy need one of these intake tubes. As you can see I drive a G35. Im going to buy the Stillin intake.. Now the intake is just a new air box/filter and ring. It uses the stock ram air. But since the unit does not come with an intake tube we are stuck with our OEM tubes witch have 2 resinators build in. The 350z pipe does not have any resinators and is a better flowing pipe.. So the combo of the 350z pipe and the stillen air box will yield some good HP and Torq gains.. Im looking to buy 1 asap I would 50$ shipped is a fair deal as long as its not bent, scratched or anything of that sort.. But then again to save 25 i might just want to get a new 1..

Hey ihatethatbobbarker do you have an answer to my question above regarding your statement concerning the flow of the stock Z airbox versus the G airbox? Since the Zs is in a pressurized area when the car is in motion, I still can't understand your statement. I am however willing to learn. Please explain.

Any more than $30 plus shipping and I would rather buy a new one.

on a flow bench the g35 airbox is supposed to flow better as for location on teh car and aerodynamics i dunno, but i imagine the z having a really low front grill would provide us with better rating. (the zs intake would haveto go several inches lower to be behind the front grill. and the only thing holding our car back is the intake piping.
see the other intake thread for my feeling on cold air intakes.
i can
