hey everybody, been looking recently into swapping a vk56 into the g sedan. ive searched and emailed people that have done this and got no reply. i know the tranny bolts up, etc. but i have read issues about getting the ecu to work correctly.
i am asking what needs to be done in order for this to work in a g35 sedan?
does the engine harness need to be modified to work with the z's 6 speed transmission?
i read about the titan ecu being utilized, but running into problems. is there a way aorund this other than running a complete standalone? and what needs to be customized?
can cruise control/traction control still be maintained with this swap (its my daily)?
please shoot me any and all info! thanks guys!

For the money you'll invest in swap and maintenance just get a set if twins. Besides car value goes right out the window with radical swaps like that. Just my $.02 would be cool to see though
get a hold of jeremy tibbs, he works at ultimate garage or something like that, used to own performance factory. he did a vk56 swap into a g35 coupe, only one that i know of that actually completed the swap...
cost will prolly be about the same or a bit less than a well thought out fi build, and maintenance will be cheaper and easier

i already got a built tt z. dont want that route, just want a fun dd that i dont have to worry about all the time. reason i picked the vk swap was because ease of ,aintenance and parts, and because it bolts up to the z's 6 speed. just wanna figure out the ecu issues. i pretty much have the motor and tranny, just need the rest of the stuff : )

I have been down this road and I pulled everything out and sold it. It would be a cool swap but for a DD car I would not do it.

it does not just bolt up to the 6 speed trans (need a adapter plate) then a custom flywheel and clutch. you will have to run a stand alone unless you use the stock Titan trans and then I'm still not sure if everything would work in the car. Also you need a alot of custom parts built, oil pan, headers, motor mounts and so on.

talked to a friend that is a tech for infiniti....the wiring harness should fit right up to the stock ecu under the dash. just keep the vk56 harness and plug in. i am looking to do the same raise the compression change a few other things. trying for 500-600whp from the vk!!!

Its a pain in the *** swap. trans will not bolt up and you can use Stock ecu. but if you want i think osiris can take off nats and acouple other things. or you can use the ecu from a Q45 since they have 8 cyl driver and load up new roms with nistune. Ive researched the swap its a great motor with lots of potential and they are wicked cheap. I honestly would do a LS1
LOL I had both threads open and simply copied the wrong thread.
This was the correct thread that I wanted to post:
