Default Throwout bearing issue...

So I have a 05 6MT with about 83k miles, am currently deployed with the Army, and my buddy back home told me he went to start it up to park it in the garage and he said its making a whining noise. I've done some research on here and by the sounds of what he was describing, its going to be the throwout bearing issue I see others having problems with on here. When I get back I plan on making it FI and seeing how they have to rip the tranny out, might as well up the clutch and flywheel as well. I was just wondering what kind of set up some of you out there have that have FI engines, as far as types of clutches and flywheels. Any kind of info will help me out here! Thanks guys!!

i doubt that is your issue.
Id assume power steering pump for a whining noise. Could be all sorts of stuff if the cars been sitting. Probably not a large issue tho..

The stock throw out bearing and flywheel chatter alarms most people who arent used to it.. rocks in a blender sound.. totally normal.

ALL aftermarket flywheels will increase this vastly.

Tons of threads man.. i wont harp as youre deployed, but hey, searching will give you TONS to read lol.

Ask him if the noise stops when he pushes the clutch in. Thats the bullsh*t Ive been dealing with after a clutch replacement. Im going back to the shop under warranty either at the end of this week or beginning of the next and theres a strong possibility that its throwout bearing for me.

No point replacing it. The noise will be back and it hurts nothing.

Yea, my buddy just told me he took it out for a bout 30min and the noise seemed to have stopped after five min... so I guess it might of been from just sitting for a while then??

The noise is extremely loud though, why would it come back if you put a new bearing in?

Mine was never really loud, just a noise I figured I'd get rid of when I did the stroker replacement. I did it and as I said within 1k miles the exact noise was back.

The ACT bearing was a piece of junk that bent getting it on the fork so I used another Nissan bearing, another last second cost to a build that ran over budget like a DOD project.

Pull the transmission if you want but be prepared to have the noise back.

My Z would occasionally have a whining noise from the throwout bearing. It happened mostly when it was cold after driving long distances in snowy or wet conditions. It would also happen sometimes if I let it sit for a long time. I would push the clutch in and out a couple of times and it would go away. After six years and 50K miles, it was never a problem. I say you shouldn't be concerned.

So............

My stroker needs to come out and during the frustration of trying to dump the car I spoke to a guy that has been building Zs since the 240 who said the TOB needs to be installed "just right" and if off by a cu#t hair will chatter.

Anyone know what that "proper install" is? Seeing as the motor is coming out I'd like to fix this.
