Default Infiniti Q50 (new G37) first look and sound! (Video teaser inside)

Infiniti is celebrating 3M Facebook friends and decided to drop this video on us. The light-up sequence looks striking. You have to play the video though to hear the car rev...it's definitely NOT a VQ37 in there. It could be a 3.0L turbo. See attached screen.

Link to video, as well:

It'll remain a Skyline in Japan, most likely. So it'll likely be rebadged as a Skyline. Hehehe.

Q50 does have a ring to it, though. G50 sounds...boss? Hah

So to answer your question, I guess we'll end up seeing all sorts of badging and rebadging.

I can't wait for the specs. This will literally make or break my Z relationship with Nissan.

Maybe it is a big v8? The numbers in Infiniti vehicles usually denotes the engine size..
G35, M45, QX56, etc...

No.

Infiniti has dropped all of that. Every car is labeled Q. Every SUV is QX. They made the announcement 2 weeks ago.

You sure it's not going to be called a Qline? You know those whacky Infiniti guys!

I lost hope in Nissan and decided to get a Viper. Unless they can drop a REAL performance motor that leaves plenty of tuning opportunities then I'm going to pass. Drop a twin turbo V6 then we may take a test drive.

The exhaust sound teaser is way too short IMO to make any intelligent speculation about the engine type or displacement. I anxiously await the reveal in two weeks and keep my fingers crossed that the new motor will not be some small weaksauce disappointment.

It's not speculation. Infiniti announced they have a 3.0L forced induction motor that'll put out as much as 550HP in the Q70 (former M-sedan). This is likely a gasoline/electric car with a higher tuned engine and more pressure from the turbos. Without the electric motor, and in standard tune, it's been stated to make 335HP.
