Default Youngest G35c owners?

Well, just wondering how I'm going to fit into this group. Will I be outcast at meets, would it even be worth it for me to go? I'll be 18 in August... Going to get a 6MT over summer I their design, and love the RWD Right now I have an 00 Celica GT (red) but want more power, a more classy car, and well, this seems to have what I want.

Any opinions or suggestions? What should I make sure is included when I get the car? Would you suggest any other cars for a teen? Well, thanks for reading this

P.S. I'll be a frosh @ College Park (University of Maryland) next year...if that effects suggestions

What do you find girls like the most about the car, what do you wish you'd have gotten included?

Other cars I'm looking at: GTO,STI,EVO,IS300...

Thanks
Sky

I just turned 18, and i don't feel left out at the meets, everyone here in so. cal is really friendly. As for this being the right car for you, it's all on you. It's a pretty powerful car, so if you think you have a good head on your shoulders, then everything should be fine.

Well, I'll be honest, I did a lot of street racing in the Celi...will I be as tempted or more tempted in this car?

What kind of cars do your friends drive? I hope I won't look out of place with them...

90 integra ls (intake,header,exhaust,n2o, sweet *** paint job, 14" gsr wheels (gunmetal) system, etc)

99 civic ex (intake, header, exhaust, wheels, neons)

98 civic w/gsr swap (intake, exhaust, system, wheels)

dunno year impreza (not wrx or sti) (wheels)

I just hope that I'm not going to look stupid driving around with them, and I also hope I'm not stuck driving everywhere with $2.00/gallon of gas!

I'm test driving the gto next weekend, I'll letcha know what it's like

you'll be looking to race everyone and their mothers in a g35 6mt. you'll realize that you can destroy everything your friends have, and so you will feel invincible. at 24, i've cooled down a lot, now i don't even care anymore. be careful with the g35... or ANY of the cars you've mentioned. The IS300 is the wimp of the bunch, it won't be that much faster than your celica (assuming 5spd) you may cost yourself your license if you aren't sensible. but judging by what your friends drive, i doubt you'll be driving sensibly in that car.

Dude you are way too worried about what other people think. The G's a great car...you are lucky to get one and should enjoy it. And that applies to all of us, regardless of age. The G crowd is a little older, but there are a lot of young folks w/them so...I'm sure it'll be a welcome step up from your Celica.

Now if you're buying the G to get women...you've got the wrong idea. Sure it has appeal, but I've found that women go for snob appeal...and infiniti has none. If you really want to impress women (and btw it is lame to even try that w/a car) you need to get a benz....BMWs are played out. And lastly, I haven't met a woman yet who was honestly impressed by street racing....only 2 that were disfigured as a result of it. So please be safe, whatever you do.

Oh yeah, personally I'd take the G over the other cars you're looking at. And whatever you get will probably get trashed in school...so plan on frequent visits to the body shop!

A. I hope to avoid the whole street racing scene which is why I'm looking so hard at the G, it's got a nice sense of refinement, and is heavier, and doesn't have the feel of a race car.

B. I will get women regardless of the car :-P My friends and I always taking out the old beater car and picking up women it's fun.

C. I don't plan to park the car at school, it will stay at apartment/work and I'll ride bike to school, due to limited parking as it is.

D. Yes, Celi is a 5sp, if you guys have driven, how does the tranny compare?

E. What are the best mods for under 200? I was thinking maybe go in an order like:

1. Tint
2. Wheels
3. Lower
4. Exhaust
5. Those sweet *** Diamond mat's

Honestly, I seriously think you'll be much more tempted to race in this car. This car has much more power under the hood than the Celica, so you might feel tempted to show your power. As for feeling stupid around your friends, i'd feel pretty good with a G35 around a bunch of Hondas. As for my friends fleet, it includes:
E46 M3
E36 M3's
S2000
WRX/STI
handful of Integs
2 Civics
G35 coupe
350Z

HAHA, You're coming to college park? Good thing I'm getting my A$$ out of here. yeah, anyways, I'm 22 and graduating from CP in a week. Get this car if you come here. There are like none out here and I know a bunch of other guys here with the car. We usually go driving around and stuff on the weekend or fix up our cars during off time.
Since there are hardly any G's out here, I usually get tons of looks from people when I drive around campus. I was wondering, how are you going to park it here? If your a frosh, you probably won't get a parking permit if you live on campus. Also, I hate driving my G on campus as people tend to not give a crap about other people's cars and leave nice little dents on your doors.
If you got any questions or want some info on the area around here, dont' hesitate to PM me.

A. I probably won't get it until mid year due to funding issues

B. Being as I live in-state, I'll have many friends with cars attending, so my car won't be going down, so I may just wait until next summer to get it

C. Any suggestions (PM me)

D. Glad I'll be one of (if not the only) one there with a G :-D

no no, get one now... that way I can try to get a group buy on a vortech supercharger... me and this other guy want to get the super charger for cheap, so the more people buying it at once, the more we might get off!
Anyways, if you know upper classmen or someone who can get you a permit for the SDG garage (which is near most of the dorms) then you shouldn't worry about your car too much if you can park it there. If you ever do take it to CP, don't take it to the lots next to the Comcast center. For some reason, there have been a lot of cars being stolen around there this past year.
And for you being the only one there with a G. I'm sure I'll be in CP a bunch of times to visit some of my buddies who are on the 5 year program.

LOL I'm not exactly goign to be able to afford a supercharger any time soon, I'm going to have trouble getting wheels and lowering...then exhaust struts etc...damn expecsive car's

Such is the life

P.S. a friend of mine just bought a car that's same year/model as mine for 11,500, mine has 55k vs the 25k on hers, so hopefully I can get 8k for mine... Put 3 more down, and I won't exactly have cash to spare... on a supercharger

If you don't mind, I've never seen a modded G, when I go down, I'd like to check yours out, check the set up, hopefully that will help me decide what mods I want

Going to test GTO this week though, so hopefully I'll still be all about the G after that

Thanks for the help CW, my aim name is sky2king8 as well, so feel free to im me when ever just to talk or w/e

17. Had my car since Sept, was 16. You think any high school student can pay cash for a G? ahahaha.

You'll be tearing up every rice car you see.

My friend's have: 93 RX7 TT -- 04 RSX S -- 01 M5 -- 04 RX8 with engine drop -- 9X 240SX with engine drop (I think you can only drive this one at the track) -- 94 Supra TT.

I'm not exactly the fastest of the bunch, but I think I'm the classiest of the bunch. =)
