G35c mods
You may want to be more specific regarding your "hard to upgrade" statement. There seems to be plenty of aftermarket support for the G35/350z. And, yes, the 350z and G35 share quite a few parts so whatever is developed for the Z usually trickles down to the G and vice versa.
It is true that currently there are no inexpensive upgrades that will give the VQ a significant HP increase. The VQ is fairly efficient in its stock, NA form. But FI is always an effective option if you want a relatively reliable 100+ HP out of a G or Z.
