PICS!!! Taillight Overlays!!!!
overall, the installation of the overlays took about an hour for me and my friend(the guy wearing red shirt in the pics...thanx Frank)...
i will highly recommend people to use a heatgun(or buy one if you don't have one)....it makes it so much easier to do it than if you were to do it without. just take your time and be patient. if you hurry, you'll screw up the overlays or scratch them.
one note, we did have to make some 'minor' cuts to the overlays once they were applied and dried on the lense. it's nothing major, i'm just ****.
great overlays, i thank bat for coming out with these!!! mad props!!!

Those overlays look awesome on your G! Is your G desert platinum? I was hesistant at first about buying them, but after seeing them on your G, I'm convinced. How is break light visibility at night?
Will a hair dryer suffice as a replacement for the heat gun?
How did you end up cutting the overlays? Did you take a knife to the G35 taillights? I'd be scared of scratching them up myself...

it does cut down on the amount of light lit at night, but it's still plenty visible and i haven't had any problems since.
hair dryer won't get hot enough, but it'll be better than nothing. you can buy a heatgun for like $20 from hardware stores....it'll be $20 well spent. trust me.
my friend actually trimmed the overlays for me around the edges. he used a exacto knife he uses on his RC Cars. he's really good with his hands, and yes, he did cut the flim on the lenses. no scracthes. mad props for him because i can't do that kind of delicate stuff....

Just put the tailights and front turn signals on my Carribbean Blue. It took an hour, a hair dryer, a credit card, terry cotton towel, my brother, and patience. It came out really well. Make sure you get heat on the edges so that it wraps around the lamps. The blow dryer was more than sufficient. Also have someone help you. My brother worked the blow dryer, while I worked out the bubbles and the edges. Overall, I'm very happy with the results. I almost payed someone to do this, but it was easy enough for my brother and I to do. BTW use PLENTY of soap/water to lubricate the lamps so that you can position the overlay. If it gets dry, the overlay will stick, if that happens, jus spray some more of the soap/water solution on the vinyl to allow it to move again for repositioning. Thanks Andrew for this fine product!
