Default Tired of the run around from Infiniti...

Ok, about a month ago my butt cushion separated from the frame of the drivers seat (have pics) exposing all the wires and gadgets under it. So I call Infiniti and talk to Jennifer who says I can go to a Nissan dealer and have the seat looked at. They can order the parts from Infiniti and do the service there. This was great! (A side note: the nearest Inf dealer to me is 70 miles away. Being told that Nissan locally can do it made me really happy)

So I take a day off of work (commission sales so I didn't make any $ that day) and have Nissan look at it. The guy there says "Yup seat cushion needs replacing. We will get a hold of Inf of Grand Rapids Michigan *191 miles away* and they can order the parts, send them to us, bill us, and we will do the service for you. I'll call you tomorrow" Awesome!... I thought.

Four days go by and I decide to call Nissan. Talk to another guy who says they wont do the work. I go through the whole thing and he transfers me to another guy who says he will have to call Inf to get authorization for the repair. Another day goes by and I call back. Talk with Steve at the Nissan dealer who says Inf refuses to send the work to him. Pissed, I call Inf Consumer Affairs (more like the soup ****'s) and explain what's going on. Wendy basically tells me to pack sand and says that only Inf will do the service on Inf, Nissan only on Nissan. Then a bunch of stuff on why they cant... one cant bill the other, Inf and Nissan aren't certified to work on each others stuff, all Inf dealers are privately owned, etc etc, etc...

So now I'm stuck driving a minimum 70 miles one way to get the car looked at again, then home, then back for service, then home again. All this aside from the fact I have to take another day or two of my life and income getting a car with 19K miles on it fixed. They wont even flat bed the car to save mileage. Hell, I could have bought a GTO and had it serviced at any GM dealer. Inf wont get my business next time if this is the way they "service" their customers. Just like everything else, once they have your $ you can go screw yourself.

sorry for the rant...

Sorry to hear about your situation. Seems like the Infiniti rep (Jennifer) should have done her homework before she stated that Nissan could repair your car.

I'm not sure what you expect from Infiniti. Infiniti is not responsible for your car being 70 miles away from the nearest dealership.

But...if there was a malfunction that disabled your vehicle, Roadside Assistance would have to flatbed it to the nearest dealership. At that point, you could get the seat issue addressed as well.
