So went to the dealership today...after I found a buyer for the CLK55....somehow they were taking payments/deposits for the 05...orderd it today...should be here some time in March...still have my SUV to drive me around...

19in wheels(already bought my aftermarket wheels Antera 321)

side note: can anybody change my name to Blk05G instead of me registering all over again....

Well I don't know that I would say that, but he certainly isn't settling with the G, and you will have a lot more spending cash. The CLK55 is a fast car but it is obviouse that the money went into the engine not the finish. I think AMG handle the performance and then they turned the rest of the car over to the crystler guys to finish it. I was pretty unimpressed with the rattles and some of the little detials that I don't feel were up to Mercedes standards. We had a guy buy a G35c and trade it in after a few months for a used CLK55 we had (it was actually my Father's car), and then a few weeks later trade it back in for another G35c. Expensive lesson for him, but I think it is indicitive of the quality car you get with a G, and for a great price.

Also the coup is due out in dec-jan time frame (we hope). The sedan is the one coming sept 15th, not the coup unfortunately! I don't think the coup will be as late as march, at least I hope not, I ordered mine last week!

 

Wow...you really have to place your orders early for an '05.....

 

ill admit...the CLK is an amazing car...it was fun racing other vehicles in its category (ie M3, Cobra Mustang, etc etc) but the maintenance on that vehicle was incredibly high...just didnt feel like paying for it...maybe later on ill pursue into purchasing one....

 

The 6mt 05 G35c doesn't start production til Nov. So Feb/Mar delivery is expected.

 

dont know if its just me....but the stock 19in wheels....they dont do it for me....anybody else with me....or am i the only one....

 

Not just you. The current 18" Rims look better IMHO.

I dunno why you ordered so early..but I guess if they are always out of stock of G35s out there...

Hey I was at the dealer today and they told me that the 05 will have 297 hp. is that true?

i think those rims u've seen of the '05s are the 18in wheels.
dont think they put out a pic of the 19in wheels yet.

and why are you waiting till march when you're getting the 5AT?

 

All the posts I have read said the wheels we have seen so far on the '05 are the 18", there are no pics of the 19's yet.

 

check on g35driver.com . there are many pics of the '05 coupe including interior and exterior and the 19" fugly rims. Im much happier with my 18 chromes Check it out www.g35driver.com and go to the coupe section and youll find it somewhere. You might have to backtrack a few pages. Or better yet just search
