I just installed a version 3 nismo and everything went well. I forgot to plug in the maf sensor and i got all sorts of errors and couldnt rev past 2k rpm (stupid me). So i open and realized that and plugged it in and all is good now. The only problem i am having now is that the "ENGINE LIGHT" is on. Is that supposed to happen? I'm pretty sure the installation was correct... any feedback on this?? Thanks
I beleive you need to reset the computer to get rid of the light. you can do a search on this to confirm. I beleive this link has instruction how to reset computer.

Ok going to try that now. I did disconnect the negative battery for about an hour but that didn't seem to do the trick. Maybe i have to leave it out for longer. I will try doing the manual method now.

I'm not sure what is the difference between the two..
According to jason, the difference between version 2 and version 3 is "it has a single long mid pipe that integrates the mass airflow sensor... but they stoped making because they dont work well" so you would have to find the difference between v1 and v2 I guess
As for mine, i honestly don't feel or hear a difference from stock.... how does yours sound?

Well here's a pic of a v3 installed..

I think the v2 had only 1 long pipe... i'm not too sure.. The v3 is identical to the aem one i think except it comes with the bypass valve

it still uses the stock maf .. that wire you're talking about is the sensor plug right? In that pic, you just can't see it because its positioned on the bottom rather than the top. For mine, it is located on the top so i have a wire going across mine too. I will post pics of mine soon. By the way what is that chirping sound you're talking about? I'm still trying to find out what a CAI sounds like because i barely hear anything

Ooh so that must be it. That is what I am hearing right now. I originally thought the sound would be more than that but I guess that is the sound that everyone is talking about. Glad to know that mine isn't "defective" then.

Mine came with the bypass and the coupler in the picture. I had a bypass on my Honda and I didn't like it and broke it cause it was plastic one day. I don't plan on driving down a river, so I didn't install the bypass. It is sitting in my garage. I got mine bout 5 months back, but I thought I had heard about the V3 back then. Anyways I wouldn't trade mine for a V3. I like the solid look and the way the MAF bolts on to the pipe.

yea they basically went back to the v1 style because as jason said, it wasn't working well. I'm pretty sure the pic i posted was a v3 because mine looks exactly like that and i made sure it was a v3. I like the v2 look also but I guess they don't make that anymore.
