Yes, they do add some restriction to the exhaust. They are restritive in the design to hold back some of the sound.

Basically we're talking like 2 hp according to RS-R.

I too have the RS R exhaust and it think it sounds good. Couple friends of mine tell me its very loud though....One of them told me that he heard it half a mile away at WOT, I have DC Headers,Helix Test Pipes,CAI,rsr, and grounding kit. Have the 350evo throttle body coming so i don't know if it will make it louder or just stay the same.
