Default NISMO exhaust rattling/leaking

I am having a problem with my NISMO exhaust, i have a leak in the flex portion of the Y-pipe. It causes an annoying rattle at about 2,700 RPM's. I replaced the Y pipe once before because of this and now it's back. Anyone have any idea what's causing this?

The Nismo exhaust doesn't need spacers for the crossmember. Mine is nowhere near rubbing, so I would assume a correctly installed exhaust will not rub.

Not sure why the O2 sensors would be affected by installing the exhaust, but what do I know.

If it is leaking, you should be able to get it replaced fairly easily under warranty.

Another Nismo exhaust problem?

One of the only parts Nissan covers with warranty, and it seems to be the shittiest unit out of all in the market now.

It was replaced under warranty the first time and i would expect it to be replaced again, I haven't gone back yet. I wouldn't go calling it shitty just yet, i have a feeling something is causing it because i had the same problem twice. If you look at the system it is really well made, I've had mine on for several months now and it still appears new. As far as the O2 sensor goes I know the leak is in the flex section because I can see the braids rattle and the exhaust spit out but i'll check it anyway.

That sucks. I wonder if only the braided part can be replaced with something stronger. This is the first I've heard of the Nismo pipe leaking (which is why I went with Nismo over the Borla).

I don't want to alarm people i was just curious if anyone else had the problem, I still think it's a great exhaust system.

In the actual flex pipe?

Are your kenetix cats causing too much stress on the flex joints? Causing the Y-Pipe to crack in the flex Joints?

thats weird...

Sorry but your just wrong. Quite a few peope if not most have had to use spacers. Do a search there have been a # of threads on it. It seems he's got his problem narrowed down to the flex joints though.

all the ones we hvae installed here did not need spacers unless a high flow cat was used...

I needed spacers on my NISMO exhaust with RT Cats... put my stock cats back on, no need for the spacers...

I have stock cats (for now) and have not had any problems with the NISMO exhaust. I did not need spacers either but there was a thread on here detailing where to put them. Sounds like its more of an issue with the fitment of other parts than ther NISMO exhaust itself.
