Default Borla exhaust system available for Z....

It'll be out soon. I spoke to a guy whose friend's black Z was used by borla for testing. Apparently they finished testing on a Z exhaust system which he said (he's been in his friend's Z) sounds like a louder version of the stock exhaust. He said there were power gains by Borla (he didn't know how much), no pricing, however, they finished the system 2 weeks ago and Borla expects it the system to hit production and come out within the next several weeks. He said the system sounded awesome, and did NOT drone on the freeway which is always a big factor in aftermarket exhausts. I am looking forward to it... I usually love Borla's products and I believe this one will probably be good..

Thumbs up

Yes, I spoke with Borla last week and was told this info. The guy I need to speak with is at SEMA and I will contact him for that all-important question: How much hp? I am very comfident in BORLA as I have their exhaust on my GS (10-hp gain) and they know their sh**! I imagine it will be their usual stainless steel V.

I think they use mainly Stainless steel, (T-304), I have one on my other car and really like it, the quality is very good and the price was good so let see what they come out with for the Z. I think that vendors will be the difference and how much they mark it up, I could buy it on the Borla site for 752 but got it from a parts store for 550, which is why I was surprised at the small reduction on th B&B from 900 to 800 maybe???

As a quick example I looked at the 300ZX system from Borla, they sell it for 932 but a quick search found it for 740, so there are saving to be had and we should see someone selling a system for around the 750 range.

I know for the GS400 system I have I got it at around 350, and that was 2 mufflers, I'm anticipating this exhaust system being at most, 500 dollars... Remember, this is just a can of metal with some fiberglass insulation and some piping and flanges. It's nothing high tech.
