i had something similar happen to me after i had my top speed CAI installed. i always drive around town and put the clutch in, drop to neutral, and then let it out after spirited runs. mine hasn't died yet, but sometimes the rpm's do drop to around 400. i give it a lil gas and it pops back up. go figure

03's compensate for a bit more then the 04 ups... plus... the idle can be adjusted more then on the 04 and ups..

Hey guys I've hit 200 miles on the reset ECU. No "normal driving" stall outs yet (3000 RPMs or below) but it seems at higher speeds the effect of pushing in the clutch and letting it coast are exasterbated caused increased risk of stall out. I looked at it go down real low then blipped it back up and put it in gear. Also, A/C being on increases idle (1000-1200 rpms).

I don't know why, but Jason always seems to calm down my fears. His comment on this occuring on aftermarket intakes due to increased flow just makes sense. And I rarely let it coast anymore. I guess this is just a sacrifice of performance in that I can't be as lazy of a driver :P

Otherwise the intake is great! I dont feel a huge difference (As I felt from pulleys/test pipes) but it does feel like it accelerates harder. Was it worth $300 performance wise? No. I'd say it performs as well as a pop charger or any other intake but it looks damn nice. It comes with a nicely polished aluminum pipe and the signature HKS purple graces the rubber connecting hoses. The bright yellow "mushroom" filter also looks pretty cool and adds color to my engine bay.

But, there are drawbacks. It's a crowded install. The filter is practically right up against the air duct and a real pain in the **** to get perfectly set and tightened in there. Also, the damn plastic screw that bolts the filter to the plastic backing is garbage. It popped off during my test runs and I had to replace it with a nice sturdy and long steel bolt.

Finally, as for sound there is not a huge diff. Then again my exhaust is so farking loud its hard to hear much of anything (Tanabe SMR/Fujitsubo Y-Pipe/ and Stillen TPs). But it does have a nice little whine I suppose.

And were you guys able to see the pictures? I dont really know how to use that imagestation.

Just curious, but if one were to have a Z equipped with an auto instead of the stick, this problem shouldn't occur right? No 'clutch in' to occur thus no stalling?

Take care.

I was just thinking of that today, actually. Cause my mom wants an intake on her Pathfinder. :P It's an auto... I'm guessing you should have no prob since it always stays in gear unless you come to a complete stop.
