Question Anyone whos RT Cats Imploded...

What happened after they imploded? SES light? erratic knocking sound? No power? Barely runs? ? ?

My car is very sick.

I thought something was really screwed up. I had very little power. Car would idle ok but when I tried to get on it, woudln't go very fast @ all. No lights @ all came on. I didn't think it was them because they had only been on for 6 days. I came on here and asked around and everyone thought it was the cats, turns out they were right.

on my accord, i had an RT cat and had the same issue. The catalyst inside broke apart, and clogged the cat itself. Well, this obviously hurts performance. If you don't treat the issue soon, the ecu may trip, thinking that the car is running rich, because of the excess buildup at that O2 sensor. And you can also blow out gaskets, and build up a lot of backpressure if the cat is severely clogged up. I have not heard of anyone with a Z who had any major issues, but it's not something to leave alone for too long.

I was at the track when they imploded . The middle fell out and the sides colapsed on top of the rest . Thought I had blown the motor . Just one of the first mistakes Ive made with modding this car was buying the RT cats
