AAM plenum spacer installation problem
Has anyone tried to install the spacer. I tried to install my spacer last night but it seems the bolts that came with the spacer are too short and I can not fit the strut bar to where it wont hit the enigne or it the hood. I tried for three hours yesterday with my nissan tech. Thanks.

You were working with a nissan tech!
In all honesty, what size is the spacer?
I havent mesaured the spacer yet but I think its half an inch in the front. Actually the nissan tech is really good and he knows what he's doing and I think he came from performance nissan.
Yes I tried sticking some washers as instructed for the strut bar but it either hits the engine or the hood. I even tried adjusting the strut bar itself. It looks ok when you start the engine and rev it but when your driving you get alot vibrations in the cabin which means it hitting the strut bar. Actually there are marks on the plenum where the strut bar hits the plenum. The bolts for the top of the plenum are too short.

It wouldn't suprise me that it hits...the reason why you need a new strut bar for the crawford is that there just isn't enough room between the plenum and the hood....this is way the thing is sloped in the first place....adding the spacer "squares" it off and really makes for a tight fit.
Every car's specs are a little different...your hood might sit a little low, or your engine a little high (talking mm here) and it just might be enough to cause a problem.
If use more washers and remove the hood insulation, will that help??
Other option is buying a crawford strut bar (I know, more $$ and not why you bought the spacer in the first place). Perhaps a stillen engine dampner will take some movement out of the engine when it revs...that could help too.
As for the bolts, they might have sent you the wrong ones....
The other possibility is that you're doing something completely wrong, but it's hard to know without being there in person. Sounds like you're problem shooting everything pretty well.

Just talked to AAM it seems that they didnt send me the right bolts. Yeah I even tried the stillen engine dampner but it still hits. They also informed me that it ok that the strut bar touches the rubber piiece on the hood but it seems that on my car that it touches alot. So I guess I'll try playing with the strut bar alittle more and hope it works.
With all 3 washers on every mounting point, the strut bar started really close the engine, but a little tweaking, it clears everything now.
Did you start with all 3 washers? I think thats a must as it was REALLY close and started off touching with just 2.
