Installing cats
I have a set of gutted factory cats that I want to install on my car. Can I do this by myself? What nuts/bolts do I need? Is it just a matter of switching them out and using the same hardware, or do I need to go buy some extra bolts and nuts?
It's a pain in the a$$ to change out the cats. It might be worth it to pay a shop to do it (I wouldn't pay more than $80). The bolts are difficult to get to and harder to remove unless you have an impact wrench.
For the test pipes I had on my Z the shop did need some extra bolts and washers as some did not come off the cat assembly. I don't recall the size though, but if you are using stock gutted cats it should only be a matter of swapping.

I almost installed my Crawfords myself, but didn't figure my ramps were tall enough for me to have the room I needed. Anyway I took it to my muffler guy. It took him only about 45 mins, and he only charged my $25.00. Pretty fair price for a messy job.

Yea it will definitely take you 2 hours to do yourself and you need a pretty long extension to get to the top bolt from the top of the car, which is the easiest way.
You may not be able to find a deal like the one low rider got, but you'll be able to get them installed for 50 bucks.
