Default Cheap and effective (ypipe <-> stock bpipe) mating

If you've got a 3" aftermarket ypipe bolted to the 2.5" stock exhaust, consider this very simple fix that will most certainly reduce turbulence and power loss, and also clean up the sound a bit:

I know this is not a new idea, but bailyrx on g35driver did some homework and found quality sources for the parts and labor. I did this fix and it turned out great. After my welder was done he showed me the old bpipe flange and there was a 1/4" black ring around it where the exhaust was slamming into it. Not good.

thanx for this post. i have the ut ypipe and stock bpipe, too. when ordering the flange, does one need to know the distance btwn the bolt holes, or is it standard for a 3" ypipe?
ps: sorry i called you "cobalt" earlier; that's just what my eyes saw at first.

I spoke with Chuck at Dr Gas and asked him to weld the 3/2.5 reducer cone onto a 3" 2-bolt flange. For reference here is their reducer cone page that also mentions the flanges, I think they are pretty much standard size. With parts and labor it came to $35.

Heh I didn't even notice the name thing. I go by copbait on the G forum but that name was already taken here. I had to go with copba1t on the plate I just ordered as well. Those Bhastids!
