Default JWT Lost Power

Hi guy's I installed the JWT pop charger on my 05 Z last night. I swear the car seems slower that it did before. I seem to have less low end torque and it is just not pulling as hard. It is my first mod on this car. Does the computer need to reset or something. I have heard good things about this intake on the forum, but something does not seem right. It does sound good but I would rather have the car run better than sound louder. Any advice I'm thinking about taking it off. And going back to the stock air box. Thanx

Check for leaks and make sure its on there good and tight. I opted just to put in a drop in K&N on my 05. I had a JWT in my 03 and the darn SEL light came on. The only difference I noticed was the sound at WOT, and I barely did that so it really did nothing other than looks.

Not worth my trouble this go around. Anyway check everything, if its okay, I would recommend you put your stock back on and see if that made a difference. Sounds like its not on properly.

Or some folks might say disconnect your battery for 10 minutes. Not sure though! GL!

It is a learning ECU, give it some time... within a week I noticed 3rd gear "barking" easier and even a year later my power just seems to slowly keep creeping up? It definitly put down the #'s at the strip, whether you like the feel, sound, looks, color? or whatever.

There should be virtually no difference in power either way. Sounds like your MAF may have got screwed up somehow. Unfortunately putting your stock airbox on may not fix this problem.

There is definitely at least a small power gain with the JWT. Most people are not sensitive to the difference. I was though.

I agree with DJK. If you notice a loss you could have screwed up the MAF. few people realize how sensitive this piece is. Did you bang it or let something touch the filaments on it?

try resetting the ECU

the popcharger does suck in more air than stock

I think the big thing I've noticed is that dirty air filter= bogged down Z. It is a good idea to keep that thing clean. I've got to clean mine, hopefully my Z will have as much "pick me up" as before.
