Default Alphawerks Indepedent Dyno Update...

The owner is a g35driver member and he told me he will post a picture of the actual dynos here asap. The original dyno was to be done by metalz here on the 350z forum but he had some issue with the dealership and we never heard back from him so that is why we used our backup on g35driver...but I saw the numbers he did so I will post a quick summary here...

AVERAGE GAIN ==> 17.54WHP

WORST CASE ==> 14.81WHP

BEST CASE ==> 19.01WHP

Thank you for the product support here. It is very difficult to give a fair and balanced viewpoint across here because everyone has their own favorite brand, but that is expected and I am glad everyone here is very excited about their car and their products. As for the dynos, a member of the g35driver forum did a dyno and install on his own this weekend and I am going to make sure that he posts it here also if he would be so kind

He did 3 baseline pulls and three after pulls...

The true test is averaging out all the baselines v. the average of the after dynos...

The results were an average of 17.54whp...not 21 but still close considering this car was automatic and w/ 20" wheels...But is right on with the super street magazine dyno information of 18whp...

Comparing the highest base to the lowest after pull was 14.81whp and the lowest baseline to the highest afterpull have you 19.01whp...

SO...

AVERAGE GAIN ==> 17.54WHP

LOWEST GAIN ==> 14.81WHP

HIGHEST GAIN ==> 19.01WHP

DYNO INFO:::::
DYNO JET DYNO

That is nuts--what do these cost again?

I would assume that they didn't mess with timing etc at all? Were there any other mentionable mods at the time, or does that matter (I would assume if other exhaust related mods were done that the headers become more effective) ?

Overall I'm very pleased with the results. Now to decide if I should pull the trigger on these.

a couple things

1. you mention "everyone has thier favorite brands", actually I am not so sure, yes, maybe some people like Crawford stuff, or Nismo, but I GUARENTEE YOU that if your product makes good power and is affordable, people will BUY IT!!!

2. if your headers actually produced 17 rwhp, that is GREAT, i'd MUCH rather have 17 real HP than 21 claimed HP.

lets see that dyno!!!!

Rod did you ever find a place to get your headers installed?

Yes, Streetimage did it for me on Tuesday. ALL FREAKIN DAY. I had a custom heat sheild installed that they really had a hard time installing, so it took some extra time. I got rid of my test pipes (too loud) and installed Nismo Exhaust and DC headers w/ heat sheilds. I felt immediate increase in mid range power and torque. I am really mad that I didn't at least Gtech my car before, but I know it is faster, and so do my tires

It just pulls harder now. If you just do headers, Streetimage has a pretty good price.

I can't believe people treat Victor so poorly here. The guy has posted NUMEROUS independent dynos. The guy even says that it didn't match his 21 hp claim, but damn, even if it gives me the low average of 14.8 rwhp, I'll be EXTREMELY pleased.

I've never seen any single n/a mod net this kind of hp on its own at this price point for the 350z. Assuming I stay N/A, I am sure I'm going to get these by summer. To get back on topic, I remember Nexus saying they are slightly easier to install? This interests me--how much should this install cost, and how long should it take? I will be happy to provide all info to fellow Z owners...for some reason I feel like I'm the only one who is believing the company's claims.

Thanks, and waiting for some info:

I spoke with "coupeondubs" the g35 member and asked him about the install and any other mods on his car...

1. Car has 20" Maya wheels / is automatic / Tein Springs / All else stock
2. Install took Dynamic Turbo in Florida just 3 hours to install. Of course they didnt take a lunch break, they took the car and closed the hood with the new headers in 3 hours straight.

I will make sure that he posts the dynos w/in 24 hours, it is Easter Weekend so I believe it would be best for us to be lenient if he doesnt post it right away.

Again congrats to all here on their mods...and enjoy your weekends...

Glad to see there appears to be some proof behind the success of these headers now. Did he post anything on G35driver.com? I'm just curious, because it should be relatively easy to cross-post it here so we don't have to wait.

Is a cross post possible? Moderators?

Thank you.

Very nice work. I fell in love with these headers when I saw the first pics, and the first indy dyno.

Confirmation yet again on great gains, and this car had 20's! And was an auto!

Great news.

For all you FI afficionados out there--these headers will work with all the s/c kits out correct?

Will it work with any turbo kit, or do they all come with their own exhaust manifolds. It was on my mind all weekend.

The Turbonetics single turbocharger kit and APS single turbocharger kit use the stock OEM exhaust manifolds. So, as long as the tubing/piping on these headers does not stick out too far and hit some of the turbo piping, then they should work.

And yes, I believe they work with ALL headers.

No, they will not work on any twin turbocharger kits that are currently out; all of the twin turbocharger kits that are out currently use their own exhaust manifolds.

Oh and, you should note that APS plans on offering an option to use their exhaust manifolds for a little more money.

Victor, Armitage, no, the software doesn't support that.

Nis350ztt:

I can always count on your for good info. Just to elaborate, for instance the Vortech would have no issues with this right? Assuming they are oem length etc.

Truth be told the only way to be sure that the header will fit with the turbo kits is to test fit a set of headers. It has been my experience that you cannot just say that it will fit in the same exact area as the OEM headers. I tell you all this at the risk of losing some sales to turbo cars, but it is better to be on the safe side and give the correct customer info. But, if someone would be interested in doing a test fit for the single turbo kit I believe that it should work.
