mmm....4-1

that puts the power gains right where we need it, up top. This'll help with that big drop-off we have at high rpms and make our powerband much nicer.

I thought it was a typo...$1960!

By the way, that's not for titanium. That's for stainless steel.

Moodie,

Headers increase HP by refining the flow of exhaust gases from the engine. Usually only nets minor gains, in the area of a few HP.

Now I know! Very nice piece, but how much again??? $2K to stick it under the hood with minimal gain is too much for me.

Jeez! Thats 2K$ is probably halfway to what the supercharger will cost for maybe 10-15hp

its one of the more effective mods, with intake, headers, and exhaust, you will have the smoothest easiest breathing engine possible. there will be no weakest link.

the headers are specially made so one cylinders exhaust gas follows the next, so you get a steady stream of exhaust, not spurts of on and off. its like puffing air out a tube vs blowing a steady stream.

tho 2grand is a tad expensive, 1 grand is about the most Id spend on a set of headers, and Id want them to be damn good too.

I think we're all jumpin the gun a bit, lets wait till american companies sell the parts, cause buying them on the japanese market is murder for us. and shipping just kills it further.

FI on a car with stock headers is not real smart. where it might get you 5-10 hp on a stock car, those mods are almost required to let the engine properly breathe. its like throwing a turbo charger on there and not tuning it. your just wasting hp.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the 350 already have equilength exhaust manifolds (aka headers)?

Michael.

Uh, to refine your statement S/C with stock headers will not allow for the highest gains possible. You want the flow to be impeded as little as possible. The problem that comes in when using the S/C is that the exhaust can't escape fast enough and with an even, smooth flow. However, it depends on how well the stockers are refined.

Just an FYI, since Forced Induction(FI) contains both Turbo and S/C'ing then that distinction should be made. If you turbocharge your car you'll be replacing your headers with a manifold allowing your exhaust gasses to spin the turbine and then exit out a downpipe, through the cats(or testpipe), and out the rest of the exhaust system. That's a really low level explanation but should shed some light on that subject.

ah yes, thankyou, it does only apply to SC

as for stock being refined, I would imagine youd want a larger diameter piping for SC, I think the Z has 2 or 2.5. if you stay with a single pipe, i think 3" would be in order.
