Remember they extended the stock rev limiter 400 RPMS as well. Given all the changes they made to the engine internally, adding CVT to the exhaust cam, the change in the plenum, and the re-mapped ECU, changed the balance of the engine. Like I said, it has more mid-range and top-end power which is better for racing on the track or auto-cross courses.

Does anyone know if the compression did change? Still thinking they upped the power with cams, lower plenum, and exhaust VVT... so it could be like 320 HP/ 280 TQ but with the lowered compression pistons (don't know if overall is lower because of the heads) it could have dropped it down to 300/260. Just a guess, but seems possible.

^AFAIK the compression ratio for the pistons has not changed. The pistons themselves DID change though so its quite possible.
