It wont take long between batches, maybe 2 weeks.
Zach will be doing the group buy, and we wont open it UNTIL we post the NA numbers, which should be by this wednesday/thursday.
We will also have some preliminary pics of the engine cover at that time, but take note the engine cover probably wont be ready for shipment for about 4 weeks.
Thanks for the compliments in terms of cosmetics, and we think the engine cover will be just as nice looking as the manifold.

That's what I was thinking. I hope that the "Premier Members" are placed at the top ofthe list.

am I the only one that thinks that car needs some cams? I have a feeling there would be monstrous gains with some longer duration cams combined with the intake manifold, with even more under-the-curve area gain before 6K rpm.

Gotta count me in on this... have money now and will buy the minute it is ready for sale. BTW, I have a Crawford plenum now and love it.
The way I see it, though... even if this intake makes only as much power as the Crawford (which I think would be underrating this new Kinetix set up), I still gain the following for my money...
1 - The new IM allows much easier access to several motor components for maitenance... plugs, fuel rails, injectors. For someone who works on their car a lot, that is a big plus.
2 - If you're a Vortech owner, it means you can run a strut bar again (Crawford bar works with their plenum, but not with their plenum AND the Vortech)
3 - It looks dead sexy!
I'm in. Let me know when to send my money!
why must you tease us with these pics?
its like holding an ice cream cone in front of a fat kid while telling him how good it tastes...
however, im still confused why you must wait for the actual NA numbers to come through. what takes so long? also, from the pics i see of the fininshed intake manifold, why would you create an intake manifold which appears to be the production model (although im not certain), without flow bench testing or dyno testing it before its finished? obviously you would know that the intake manifold makes power (more than stock) before you decide to chrome it out right?
either way, nothing i say will get me that peice sooner, however money is a great deterance.

The wait is because a bunch of people are waiting on NA numbers before they commit to buy this IM. This IM was designed specifically for F/I and they have tried to also make NA power as well. So if it does make a bunch of NA power, more people will get in on the GB. There have been dyno numbers of a Vortech powered Z which put down increases of 55 HP and around 9 lb/ft or something like that. The numbers were done running the prototype, which is NOT the one shown in the last page or so. That one shown is the production version which has already been sent to and installed by Sungnamz who tested the prototype. If I remember correctly, the production IM is a little different than the prototype but for the better. As stated previously, the GB price will likely be in the high $600 to low $700 range if I had to guess. It may be a little more or less. Of course it will be less with more people buying one. Hell, IMO its worth the cost even if gains are not all that on an NA Z based on the awesome looks of it.
Zach
this intake is worth the money even if it has the same NA gains as crawford/kinetix V5
- 12.5 lbs less
- possibility of direct port nitrous
- looks freakin awesome
- maintains stock strut bar (many consider it the best strut bar including me)
- huge gains for FI if you later decide to go FI
Though it'll be interesting to see if 350EVO come up with one, and I think another company was working on one
And also to see jason's dyno with the 05 lower plenum with crawford.
lots of plenum options coming out right now...

I'll second that sentry65, I want to see 350EVO's interpretation of this, which would also be the trick for those staying NA, they won't build a turbo-specific manifold when they're going to continue racing NA. Let's hope this also brings out the prototypes of everyone else's ideas, besides, what can hurt about a little competition? I'm sure it won't hurt our prices...

I'm saying that *IF* they did it'd only make sense that it'd be designed around an NA platform as all their products have been designed from their racing experience. Please don't take me as an authority, but I've been very interested in this for a long time (even though I've heard nothing but rumors). Sorry to jack the thread, I'm done now unless someone who knows wants to comment on 350EVO's plans.
It's amazing what a little polishing work can do to dress up the piece and engine bay. That looks HOT! One could almost mistake the VQ as an Inline-6!
Very eagerly waiting for the NA numbers. Is there a plan to do some flow tests for the 6 individual runners?

there's really nothing else to talk about it.
We'll see what NA numbers it gives, but otherwise what else is there to say other than what's already been said?
I'm in on this one regardless.... so put me on the list.
I know I will go FI (single turbo) if not this fall, then in the spring and I am in the process of doing all my supporting mods first... clutch, flywheel, IM, and what not.
I'm game
