Default Car Sound Cats

I know Kinetix uses car sound cats for their converter system, and that the spacer puts out the same gains as the plenum, so what are some opinions on going with a plenum spacer and just buying two magnaflow (or car sound, same thing) cats vs. the kinetix package? Pricewise, I know where I can get both cats for $100 and the spacer is $250. So that is $350 for that setup vs the $700 setup from Kinetix...Any thoughts?
