derogatory comments are uncalled for....we are just stating our opinion that we don't like the look of the hood.

if this were beneficial in any way then racing teams would all have their hoods propped up....but i bet the drag that this creates would slow the car down.

I agree with road warrior about the derogatory comments. I appreciate your support but at the same time there is no need to attack any of the poster. I am open to critism and everyone is entitled to there opinions. I just ask everybody to keep it civil.

Roadwarrior, some of drag racer's do run with cowl induction hood. as far as it slowing you down not sure about that. i will have to look into that. i'm sur it's minimal for the benifits of cooling.

i read a thread about creating a hole beneath the hood, wouldn't that bring in more air to the engine rather then having the hood proped up?

if the cooling benefit of the propped hood is more advantagous then the drag that it creates than your onto something

as far as the comments....well if you have been following the thread you would not have rekindled a fire and know why i said what i did "bigshow"...plus it didn't appear that you were joking

personally, i'm not offended but i believe you can make your point without making stupid comments

Your an idiot. Enlarge the intake plenum? What were you thinking? Dude, it looks like ****. If you want to reduce engine temp, maybe you should check your cooling system for proper function. Lifting the rear of the hood is MAJOR GHETTO, PWT. Your the kind of moron that has way too much time, limited money and no common sense. Do us all a favor and sell your car.

You need to step away from the car, go inside your single-wide trailer and call a shrink, immediatly. I'll help you dial.

Motordyne = rip off.

thanks nourarnaout, i totally agree. i believe that this guy is a current member on a different account. IMO code3z pretty lame man. i would seriously like code3z to come out to one of the local meets and discuss the weak points of my car. have the other z owners decide if my car is ghetto.

I read through all 4 pages of this post and cowl induction was only mentioned once... it's definetly NOT ghetto... in fact it's one of the oldest cooling tricks in the book and if i'm not mistaken stillen actually makes a cowl hood for the 350Z.

lifting the hood to create the cowl is very effective becaues it pulls the hottest air out of the engine bay.

If you just make a hole underneath the car its not as effective because the hottest air in the bay will continue to rise and get trapped under the hood.

cool hood spacer. I think it looks good. Looks very aggressive. I would worry about water and stuff getting in for myself when it rains and I would only do it if my car was fixed up as much as yours. I have a stock z.
