Intake Exhaust
I just picked up my 350Z today. If I have an after market intake installed will it affect my warranty? If not, what would anyone suggest? All suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.
A photo of my HKS intake is attached. Someone PM'ed me for more details so here it goes... It's a very high quality kit with clear enough instructions that you can install it yourself (the diagrams are confusing though). The little touches like the polished intake tube, HKS branded couplings, and big heat sheild all make this kit a winner. The one negative aspect is the fastener on the front of the filter is crap. On my test run it popped off and so did the filter! I ended up replacing it with a long aluminum bolt. Gains wise, I dont see a big difference versus any other intake... All intakes on the Z are relatively minimal power gainers. This one sits pretty far forward and a bit lower than the stock setup or even the Popcharger so perhaps that increases gains. I got mine for $280 shipped from Injected Performance.
If you want an all out HP gainer intake I would say the Gruppe M is the absolute best you can get. However, for the price I dont think it's worth the extra 1hp. For someone who wants a middle of the road, high quality, unit with great brand prestige and a nicely polished intake tube you cant go wrong with the HKS Racing Suction Kit.
