Default About your Injen intake

Has anybody used their Injen CAI as a short ram setup? Any pics of this setup?

I read on Injen's website that it can be set up that way, by I guess just omiting the long drop down pipe and bolting the filter straight to the MAF meter.

I could use some pics. I'm trying to decide if I want to use a pop charger or use the Injen CAI so that I can have the option as a short ram setup in wet weather, then drop it down at the grill in non wet weather.

Another question. Using the Injen with it dropped down all the way, do you still get the sucking sound or does the added length kill the sound?

Yes you can convert it to short ram and yes you still get the sucking sound with the added length. I personally have a nismo but I would say go for the Injen.. it's a good product. It looks nicer too if that makes any difference to you. But if you don't really care about the looks then I would save $ and get the PC.

unless you're driving through standing water 6" and higher, i wouldnt worry about water that much. I have driven through pleanty of deep puddles, terrible rain, and sleet without problems. The entire filter has to be covered in water before it will start sucking up water, and it has to make it all the way up the long intake tube without evaporating.

Do not setup the Injen this way using the provided Injen filter!!!! You will kill performance greatly. The Injen filter does not have a conical entrance like the JWT or other filters, which in turn actually blocks the colder air from entering the intake from the front. I tested this on the 1/4 mile track and lost about a full 1 second in my times!!!!!
