Default I just got a new 2005 Grand Touring Roadster....

...and I am interested in getting the JWT Popcharger. I like it because it is simple to install, fairly inexpensive, sounds awesome (according to posts I've read), and creates a few extra horsepower. But the more posts I read the more I am second guessing getting one. Will the popcharger cause stalling problems and rough idle on a 2005?

I don't plan on changing the exhaust, headers, or cats. I am not a big fan of loud exhausts. I installed a greddy sp exhaust on my 99 SH prelude and removed it after one week because I couldn't stand the drone while cruising on the highway. I DID like the sound of the DC sports air intake. I like that an air intake is only loud at wot while an exhaust tends to be loud all the time.

Anyway, I want to add some sound but I don't want to create drivability problems. I may change the plenum down the road but I don't know if that mod helps at all with a stock exhaust system.

I guess I just need some straight answers. Is the 2005 any different than the 03-04? I am a newbie to Z's but I have been reading post after post for the last week. So please don't tell me to do a search. I've read all the posts on this subject but I can't seem to find a definitive answer. Any help is appreciated.

BTW, so far I love this car! I can't wait to hit 1200 miles so I can open her up!

I've had my pop-charger for almost a year now. my Z is a daily driver...and sure this may sound bad, but I drive my car somewhat hard...so far I’ve had no issues with anything what so ever. This intake will give your car a much more aggressive sound, around 6hp to the wheels, supposed "added" (+1 mpg) gas savings (according to some owners), and a cool sucking noise around 2-3k rpm. Over all the car will become a bit louder, but (for me at least) there will be no droning with only an intake. Keep in mind that I had mine installed at a Nissan dealership.

As for your car’s system being different, I think it is. There have been some people asking for new turbo kits that have been specifically tuned for the newer Z's -2005- because of supposed malfunctions of incompatibility. I know that they did some changes to the 35th anniversary Z's motor, but I haven’t seen anything on the new “Grand Touring Roadster“ myself.

Hope this helps.
