Exclamation Best Y-Pipe

I started a thread for best headers and i turned into a preety good one. I've read damn near every thread here w/ "y pipe" in the thread adn haven't really found a good answer. My question is whats the difference between spending $995 for the top secret one or $275 for the gruppe S and all the differnt ones in between(i.e. fujitsubo, tanabe, Jic, etc). Is there really a big difference in power gains or is it kind of like the nexus crawford battle(spend the extra 600 bucks for engineering and maybe 1-3hp). Also is one louder than the other.

imo, $995 is absolute robbery for tubing. look for ones with flex portions to make alignment and stess better. if you're going fi, you may want one with larger tubing than stock. otherwise, they're all pretty much the same, imo, even moreso than headers.

Well, I'm an owner that had the Gruppe-S Y pipe and I currently have the UR Y pipe.. I can say that the UR Y pipe is noticible louder than the Gruppe S.. Probably because of less bends..

I'm staying na. I figured that the top $ecret one was just robery. Is there much sound difference between the jic vs tanabe or guppe S ? Is one better made than the other?

I think the Tanabe is the best Y pipe because it is the straightest compared to the others therefore would probably have the most flow.

Do you know the best place to purchase the OBX? I searched Ebay and found one, but I couldnt find any retailers that sold it.

you might as well get the full Nismo exhaust (y-pipe, mid-pipe, and muffler) for $900

harvesterUT...there's a difference in $$ between 350 tanabe and 850(500whp.com) for the nismo. I'm thinking that I might keep the stock exhaust and just do headers, test pipes and y pipe.

Whoa thats nice, I was going to suggest the JIC y-pipe, next to the Nismo y-pipe you can clearly see its much smoother, but that UR y-pipe is nice...

Would there be any real difference in power between the Nismo and the JIC?

I would go with the Japtrix Y pipe.

Btw, there is a group buy on it... https://my350z.com/forum/group-buys/131732-gb-on-japtrix-y-pipes-and-mid-pipes.html
