Default Why is this hole in my cat?

These are Kinetix HFCs. Is this hole factory or is it from the addition of another sensor? Anyone know? It's only in one cat.

Some factory cats have a drain for condensation but that looks a little too big. The stock steel tube they use for that joint looks like it had a hole in it when they made it. Welder probably noticed it after he started welding and sent it out anyway.

Larry, ooops. I forgot about that. It's an EGT probe hole. If you don't have an aftermarket EGT, you should have a muffler shop plug it.

exhuast gas temperature. i say leave the hole and put a gauge in!!

Would do you no good.....If you go FI...yes , then it would [ some what ] it should be as close to the exhaust port as possible to be able to tune with it
