Default Got my Nismo Exhaust Installed today

It doesn't sound that much different than stock. At certain RPMs you can really tell but on the highway and idling its quiet as can be. I'm pretty happy with it though. I think the sound clip I heard of it that made me want it must of had other exhaust stuff done because its not close to being as loud and throaty. Anyone got some sound clips of a Z with nismo catback, headers and high flow cats?

I got my nismo exhaust at the same time as my intake and they sounded pretty good together because the intake lets out this whistling sound which complements the throatier sounding exhaust. It gets quite a bit louder once you add headers and hi flow cats. I'll see if I can get a video up for you sometime soon. Although, i'm sure there are a bunch floating around the site...

Throw some hi-flow cats on & it will get much louder. I installed my exhaust & cats at the same time so I don't know what the exhaust sounds like alone.

yea, i would like to hear some more clips of this exhaust. I have only found 3 clips and all are pretty crappy quality. But, I would like to hear this exhaust in different clips of it actually driving at different throttle loads from outside the car. Im sick of Rev clips.
thanks in advance to anyone who posts some vids up!

Mine sounds pretty throaty and at times it is just shy of LOUD! I do not have HF Cats or test pipes or headers. Sometimes it is much louder then other times.
Give it a little while. I am sure you will hear the sound you were looking for.

If I had a video recorder, I would help you guys out. All I can say is you won't be disapointed in the sound. It definitely turns heads.

installed the nismo... a bit louder and more exotic than stock
installed plenum... a bit louder still, more intake noise
installed JWT popcharge... same exhaust volume, whistling intake noise
installed Ultimate-Racing HF Cats... exhaust got quite a bit more throaty & louder, no rasp though
swapped plenum for kinetix SSV... still sorting out problems, but exhaust got hella-loud now, sounds like a straightpipe off the block at 6k+, but no rasp... intake is loud as crap (sounds like a BOV at times), valvetrain noise is now audible.

hope that helps

I may get the Nismo when my stock one falls off. That or the Stillen TD. My stock exhaust sound has changed BIG TIME since my n/a mods. I LOVE it!!

Here is a sound clip I threw together.... Windows movie editor screwed the sound up a little bit but it is pretty close. Sorry I took so long!

http://www.putfile.com/media.php?n=350zsound1

It takes a while for the site to load it up so be patient!

I also have AEM CAI, I think the car has y-pipes and/or maybe some HF cats or strait cats because it runs very very rich and has a bit of a rasp to it, I hear that the cats cause that. I will be getting under it tomorrow to determine if this is true or not!

I bought the car from a dealer and we all know they dont know sh*t about MOD's!

yea, let me know if you are using an aftermarket Ypipe, HF cats, or Test pipes...That definately make the sound change as well as the sound level. But, from the sound clip, I think it sounds very nice! Nice setup.
