Injen intake install
I just received my ingen intake and am going to do the instal myself. From the looks of it all I have to do is remove the strut and the factory airbox then put in the Injen, then replace the strutbar If there's any more to it than this someone please let me know here. Thanks.
If you are going to install the INjen as a full CAI then there is a little bit more to it than that. You have to install that large rubber hose with the sharp bend in it to the area behind the front bumper and attach the the filter. For many folks the easiest way to do that is to remove the front bumper. A few snaps a few bolts and the thing falls off in your hand. The other item some find difficult to install is the heat shield. Having a skinny hand helps here otherwise it is somewhat of a knuckle buster. However, I would suggest you do install the heat shield. Also make sure you re-install the MAF in the same orientaton that you removed it. I would also suggest that you get a water shield for your air filter if you are installing the full CAI. The water shield will protect the filter from everyday stones and dirt and also help reduce the amount of water ingested by the engine during rain. Water lock is not really a problem unless you completely submerge the filter and completely cut off the air supply to the engine. That's a big problem! The shield will help prevent water from soaking the filter in the rain. If you are just installing the Injen as a shorty... why bother. Good Luck
