Headers, Hi Flow cats, Plenum......???
I was just wondering if getting headers, Hi flow cats, and a plenum is really worth all the money for the little gains you get. Would I be better off just saving my money and Get FI?
If I have to do it all over again....I will save all that money to go FI. Here is the break down in price:
headers : $800 + $200 - $400 installation fee.
hiflow cats: $300 + $50 - $100 installation fee.
plenum : $350 to $600
then exhaust, blah blah... add them all up....you can buy a TT setup that put down much more power. But take in the isntallation and tuning of the TT will be more.

05 Track Plenum + Headers =
Test Pipes + Headers = Headache
Plenum + Test Pipes = Headache...
Most power...
If you leave your cats alone... and do headers / plenum etc... you will gain more HP... ECU reflash doesnt allways fix everything...

Like noted above, you will eventually want to get these if your going FI either way, well except for the headers if you're going to go turbo. I have this set up...well along with a pop charger & exhaust and it gives you extra power, however, nothing near what FI could get.
I should have a dyno later today, which might give you a better idea of how much they really add.

kangol99,
It's totally up to you... everything said above is pretty true. FI/ SC is a better bang for you buck, if you can front the 6-10k to do it. I chose the n/a route with a budget and will replace and upgrade parts as they wear or rust out.
I've spent roughly $1400 on my engine mods Grnd.kit, Eng. dampener, CAI, AAM spacer, SS TS headers + Jethot2k and SS HELIX HF cats + Jethot2k. All installed by myself, it does help... Would I do it again, YES! I can feel the difference and I love the new sound coming from the stock exhaust.

can you please expand/explain the above quote, pleeeeeeeeze?
Not sure why you guy's think F/I is $10k. Most superchargers and the Turbonetics S/T are less than $5400 OTD (installed). For me, N/A wasn't even a consideration. IMO, if you are considering N/A or F/I, I would just get a S/T (preferrably Turbonetics, APS ST is too expensive for what you get IMO). And the good thing about it is later on you can get those same mods and gain quite a bit of power. Increasing air flow on F/I vehicles yields good gains. Better than N/A at least.
It depends on where you live. (as far as being able to use the power you have) Kind of like asking what's the benefit of modding vs. stock. If you get to use the power, by all means, do it. If not, leave it stock. F/I also has tons more potential than N/A [VQ35DE].

So far i have test pipes, plenum spacer (which had better hp gains then crawford), and intake. headers are up next. do everything yourself and it won't cost you too much. Turbo next so some NA parts will have to go but thats not too bad because it is easy to sell the stuff you don't need, there is always someone out there wanting to buy your old parts.
Well so far Ive purchased:
Motordyne 1/2" spacer, Popcharger w/spl intake tube and varis cf intake. Im ordering the helix hf cats and have already recieved my invida g200. Im scared of making the decision on headers just because of all the horror stories on installation but with what I have Im hoping on some improved performance. Im going to dyno my car stock then dyno it with the modes and see. <fingers crossed> I swear I have put more money in mods that I will never see..lol..
