Question Borla or Nismo

Im having trouble on deciding what to get. A true duel borla exhaust system w/ borla headers or Nismo S-tune exhaust w/ Nismo R-tune headers?

I need your opinion

The best thing to do is go to some of the meets and listen for yourself. Everyone's taste in exhaust, rims, color, etc will vary person to person. What may be music to your ears may be too loud for someone else. Make an effort for YOU to mod the car by your own taste... that way you won't regret it everytime you get in the Z.

Get Nismo headers and Borla exhaust. Stay away from Borla headers, I don't think they are equal length.

yeah borla headers suck and nismo exhaust isnt much better than the stock. the borla is true dual and has some of the best power gains on the market. id say go either nismo headers or dont get new ones or look into some others. borlas arent good at all but the exhaust is one of the nicest sounding out there. almost like a v8. low and rumbly

Are you kidding me. I have heard plenty of exhausts in person & the Nismo is one of the best sounding out there.

Go w/ nismo exhaust, borla is exhaust is cheap looking, connections and sound.
On the headers, I would look at crawford or alphaworks, if I remember correctly they are the two highest gains you can get and the quality is there as well.

This is just a bias statement. The sound of borla is deeper compare to Nismo and for sure they don't look cheap.

Well lets see Borla has multiple clamp style connections and leaks in a heart beat, I have installed both and prefer and have the nismo. But yes its biased based.

borla is more of a deep muscle car type sound and nismo sounds nice but is more on the "ricer side".thats just my .02 cents. plus 722 shipped vs 900 + for the nismo!

+1

IMO...this is the best approach to this. Well said Rommel. Also, make sure that when you listen to ask what else they have on the car. The addition of other mods such as Y-Pipes, HF Cats or Test Pipes, Headers, Intakes, etc... will change the sound of the exhuast. Good luck & happy modding!

Nismo sounds nothing like rice. I think it has an exotic sound and I'm sure there are a lot of people out there that agree with me.

Nismo headers... Nismo exhaust...

When you look at the Nismo headers closely you will see the attention to detail and the close to equal length piping, and the diameter is something like 3 different sizes. Go to Nimso's official website, you will see what I'm talking about. They are nothing like TS, DC, or similar makes. The Nismo exhaust is made up of 3 pieces and there's plenty of breathing room. Less leaks IMO.

I have absolutely nothing against BORLA. But do a search and you will find many people just getting the whole BORLA system welded solid.

I like the sound of them both but I do not like the clamps used on the Borla, it leaks.
If you ever consider FI I would recommend against the Borla exhaust due to leaks.

The NISMO exhaust is pretty well made and contrary to a post above, it is considerably better than stock both in sound and performance.

There are others worth considering too. Just my $.02 .

I'd save your money and skip the headers.

Go with the exhaust that sounds the best to YOU.

If you do go with Borla, make sure you tack weld all the joints or it will leak and make creaking sounds as it heats and cools off.

Personally, the NISMO looks great, sounds throaty and louder under load but is stock-like when cruising. Cost more but worth it.

the nismo does sound nice and if I had the extra cash I might get it....I guess when I refer to "ricer sound" I mean that its just a little louder and not as deep as the borla.
