Take a hose connect it to the end of one tailpipe, run it into the cabin and insert in your mouth because if the sound of dump pipes is what you are after you don't deserve to live! JK

Haha, comeon guys that's not exactly what i had in mind, this is getting out of control

Im thinking more in terms of CAT-BACK Exhausts and which of the ones avalible for the 350 is loudest and gives the sharpest most destinctive sound. Im really feed up with the stock system... Its like whisper quiet! If you have some music in the backround on moderate volume you dont hear ANYTHING from the engine, even when accelerating hard...

My ideal system would be relativly discrete when cruising with little throttle and low RPM, just a destinct but low volume backround sound (no bassy resonance), but when you put your foot down it should be screaming out loud, also the sound while engine braking after doing "heel-toe" downshifts when slowing for a courner is important, there should be a clear difference between going down and up the rev range.

My current selection priority: (based on Price/sound/looks)
1. RSR ExMag GT2
2. Apexi N1
3. HKS HiPower

From what ive gathered as well the Helix high flow cats would increase the "raspyness" and sportiness of the sound + adding a few HP and still keep emissions legal, quite likely to be the next i get after the exhaust.

this is getting out of control

In that case, I think you'll be pleased with most aftermarket exhuast kits with test pipes.

I've heard that the RSR (with dual N1 style tips w/o sliencers) is loud. The Injen kits are loud as well...

Good luck.

another vote for the RSR. It's nice to have the option to run with or without the silencers. With them it's a tad louder than stock. Without them it's pretty carzy. I've gotten used to it but everyone I know tells me it is loud. Sounds awesome though.

I agree with all of the above. I have had my RSR exhaust for over a year, and love it still, sounds amazing.

I have been meaning to make a nice recording all along and just haven't. I'll see what I can do this weekend. With any luck and some time, I can have MP3's up on Monday.

Thanks Zspeed that would be perfect!!

If you could shoot some in car sound as well it would be amazing!

I have seen in some of the pictures of it that you see the connecting pipe between the exhaust "end pipes" quite clearly from behind, is this the case in real life as well or is this something you dont notice much? (http://store1.yimg.com/I/ntnsracing_1849_111165961 )

Thanks

That picture is sort of a low angle. You def see it as you walk to the car. But when you are standing around the car you don't see it nearly as much as in that picture.

Here are the soundfiles I promised. Please right-click and save as!

RSR ExMag GT II - Reving - No Silencers
Reving Sequence - 3k, 4k, redline, 2k blip.
Reving from 15' away. Monstourous sound. Very aggressive, sounds like a very deep formula car. Sounds even better under bridges or in parking garages...teehee. Without the silncers this exhaust can set off car alarms.

RSR ExMag GT II - Reving - With Silencers
Reving Sequence - 3k, 4k, redline, 2k blip.
Reving from 15' away. Sound is similiar to stock. Much thinner sounding, not bassey at all, I would describe it as more gargely.

RSR ExMag GT II - In Car Reving - No Silencers
Reving Sequence - 3k, 4k, redline, 2k blip.
The best thing to gauge here is the sound of the exhaust in comparsion to the sound of the engine reving. Without silencers, the cabin is filled with sound and the exhaust note is heard quite clearly, the engine is almost inaudible. It can be hard to talk on the phone at times.

RSR ExMag GT II - In Car Reving - With Silencers
Reving Sequence - 3k, 4k, redline, 2k blip.
In this clip the note is much thinner, and the engine can be hear more than the exhuast. In cabin noise is similiar to stock, with this exhaust being a bit more noticeable.

RSR ExMag GT II - Accelerating - No Silencers
Accelerating away...1st - 3rd

RSR ExMag GT II - Accelerating - With Silencers
Accelerating away...1st - 3rd

RSR ExMag GT II - Drive By - No Silencers
Driveby's - wwweeee

Thanks Zspeed!!

Benchmark stuff, this is how all exhaust samples should be, very profesinally done and the exhaust sounds really cool indeed!!! From outside without the silencers its massive

If you have the files hosted at a reliable free place it would be a good idea to add these recording to the sticky thread on exhaust clips!

If possible one last addition to that package, a recording from inside the car while driving and accelerating through gears (without silencers only would be fine )

/Roger

EDIT - Just saw you already added it to the exhaust clip thread, great
