Loudest, "raspiest" and most aggressive exhaust?
I out chasing for an exhaust to my newly aquired Z, what i want is something that is loud, i love engine song!!
It should be VERY loud when you are on full throttle and at high RPM. I DONT want heavy bassy resonance when driving on low throttle and constant 2-3.5k RPM (Highway cruising). The volume should increase linearly with throttle and RPM and not peak at like 20% throttle and like 3k rpm like many aftermarket exhausts do.
What i have in mind so far is:
1. Apexi N1 Dual catback
- Pros: Very aggressive, sharp and loud, cheap, fast delivery
- Cons: Not 100% stainless tubing (mufflers are 304stainless though)
2. Tommy Kaira systems, preferbly the Z type II
- Pros: Awsome balanced sound
- Cons: Expensive(!), most likely long wait for delivery
3. Any ideas???????
What exhaust do you guys think would suit my requirements? (loud, aggressive, raspy, peak volume at high RPM/throttle)
I guess an exaust that fullfills the above would also give a good HP increase which is ofcourse also a desired outcome
Thanks for your help in this quest

Thanks for the suggestions so far!
The RSR GT2 seams quite nice, looks nice and appears to be atleast according to what they say feature a "race car" sound which is good IMO
Only downside is that its a single pipe system.
Does anyone have an RSR GT2 exhaust on their car? Or has heard one IRL? Are there any sound samples around? (i couldnt find any)

I have a stock ekhaust with test pipes and no pre-silencer/resonator. It is STUPID loud. But, its what your looking for in that it is not loud at all below 3k rpms. You might want to give it a try before you buy anything. After all it will only cost you 100 to 200 bucks to try it out. I recommend you try out just with test pipes, cutting off the resonator in combo with the test pipes makes it too rediculous.
Hmmm hehe ok well i mean it shouldnt be SUPER MEGA LOUD
, but significantly louder then stock, it shouldnt be so loud that it gets annoying when cruising at highway speeds but I want to hear it clearly and destinctivly when im accelerating with much throttle, then it should be screaming! Usually this calls for smaller diameter piping and silencers which keeps high pitch sound.
This is the nicest exhaust note ive heard so far, its the Tommy Kaira Z Type2:

Second to that is the Apexi N1 (not 100% sure this is the N1 but i think so):

Also sounds like you do want to have the middle silencer there unless you want to go deaf hehe, so ill leave that... And i dont think ill go with test pipes but perhaps a highflow cat which would increase the sound abit, but i guess much of the raspiness is removed by the cats.
Right now my choise is between the RSR ExMag GT2 and the N1 due to the good price and sound (RSR looks really nice as well but is a single pipe design), but im not sure i want to take the chance with the RSR without hearing or someone who has heard it describing how it sounds first...

heres what you could do. you have a few options. cut off the stupid dual tip stock muffler. get a single hi power muffler from hks, and have it welded to the stock exhaust. then get some test pipes and stick those on. you will be heard like 10 miles down the road. you could also do what im considering and get a custom 3 inch piped true dual setup with test pipes and two hks hi power muffler. this will be straight piping all the way back basically. itll be pretty damn loud. i love the sound.
You want LOUD
Just put on test pipes, and put on dumps after the test pipes that dump toward the ground, or toward the side of the car under the doors. Cheap and Very Very Loud.

but one of my friends has the RSR exhaust.....that thing is a MONSTER. But at WOT, I think my other friend with the Invidia + testpipes is even louder... but yea when I'm driving behind them, just cruising, I can't even hear my own exhaust...and I have the JIC DE Type-1 titanium...
i have topspeed headers, stillen test pipes, custom y-pipe and Blitz NUR Spec exhaust with the resonator cut out and and its crazy loud, it vibrates the interior and makes car alarms go off when i drive by
just get 3" straight pipes from the cats back and put in test pipes...
and then watch people look at you in disgust when they see you have mutliated the Z with that rasp.

Disconnect your exhaust system including the cats so your manifold pipes just dump the spent exhaust gasses onto the street.
That's about as loud as it's gonna get... You might need ear plugs...
