Default Defective Kinetix Cats

I installed my Kinetix cats about a year ago, About 3 weeks ago my car started getting really sluggish and started only getting about 17mpg. Yesterday I was driving around at normal speeds when CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK it made this LOUD clunking sound no matter what I did or what RPM I was at, worst at idle. It sounded like it was comming from the Cat area....

I drove home (about 10 miles) and right before I got home it stopped....completely stopped making the sound.

Well anyways, this morning I pull off the driver side cat(where the sound was comming from) and I was shocked to see that the comb was COMPLETELY GONE!!! NOTHING THERE, looked like a gutted cat, not a single spec of honeycomb left. I looked at my O2 sensor and it was all dinged up from the pieces flying through, and now I have to complety remove my Borla exhaust to ensure there arent any large pieces in there. I then removed the passanger cat and it was perfect. I put a call into Kinetix to see if there was anything they could do for me.

You never got a SES light throughout all of this? Is your car an 03?

Kinetix cats are carsound/magnaflow cats

should be top quality... could be a defective unit. How many miles you have on them?

it should DEFINITELY have thrown a SES
