Default Have you ever beheld the beast of "Open Header"?

O.....M....G

I am running catless(test pipes) as of tomorrow and started today by removing the cats. By the time i'm done i see the garage door cannot close and i have to move the car forward. I was considering pushing it but being the lazy bastard i am i decide to actually turn it on(catless already=open header).

Before i do so i take a quick walk around my house to see if my family was still there, maybe sleeping. Nobody home? Ok..Lets proceed.

So then i walk to my car, put the key in and kee kee kee kee BBBBB BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM. I could have sworn there was an explosion in my home. Especially since the car was in my garage, my jaws dropped and i move it forward quck and turn this beastly thing off. I feel nervous(what a moron). .....

Ok maybe it was cool so then i decide to turn it on again and give it a light rev. I already learned my lesson knowing this tactic with the door opened is beyond healthy for the human ear. So then i close my car door and rev it to 4k. Response is crazy. Interior resonance is crazy. You can feel and hear the difference. I have never heard a louder car before in my life. And i thought it was pretty cool. I wonder if that sound closely resembles the JGTC VQ. Anyways just wanted to share.

They're fun cause when there's a cop around I use to rev at them and as soon as they would drive past me I would close it. Great for scaring ricers too.

Cut-Outs are as old as the hills. When I was a kid - in the 50s, they were mechanical. A trap door device on the pipe or pipes controlled by a dash **** hooked up to a cable. Sort of like a choke **** and cable (If you guys know what a choke is. Anyway, nothing new.

I took off my yoshi slip-on on my vfr and rode around, sounded mega mean, way to loud and produced no power over 7000rpms, but passing a mini van at dusk, seeing the flames in the reflection of the van and everyone ducking for cover in the van was priceless......

My brother and I did a header install on his Hemi Ram and had to run it open headers until we could get the cat welded back on. It was the loudest thing I have EVER heard. Its not a Z, but it was loud as **** and sounded mean.
