Default Greddy + Single Turbo Kit?

Hey guys I was planning on getting the GReddy EVO Dual Exhaust for my Z as well as the Tubnetics single turbo kit. Now after thinking about it is is a waste to get the Greddy? Since I have to have the Y pipe custom redone for the turbo kit? Should I get something like the NISMO insted?

Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

Yes the Greddy would have to get modified so yeah any y pipe back exhaust would be better as it would cost less initially and wouldn't have to be modified. The list includes Fujitsobo, Apexi N1, Apexi WS2, Topspeed Pro-1, RSR, Invidia N1, Tanabe (all of them), Magnaflow, B&B, Blitz, JIC, Topspeed, Power Enterprise, and Nismo...

Would the greddy make more power then the rest with the modifications? or about the same as any y-pipe back?

The Greddy actually appears to be so free flowing the kit picked up almost 2 psi of boost. This was on kcobeans cars...

I guess it could be either. If you don't want to run close to 10 PSI its bad...if you are happy with that and have a built motor its good. I mean you could always add a boost controller to keep it at 8 PSI either way. besides most electronic boost controllers will also help shorten spool up time so thats a good thing too.

Yea when I go FI I was going to go with Turbonetics kit with the ecu flash / Greddy E-Mange Ultimate / and hopefully a Profec-e that will work with the EU. I just want an exhaust that flows well and will make the best hp/tq with the turbo kit. I also plan on honeing the stock exhaust manifold and having is Jet-Hot coated and wrapped with header wrap to reduce heat in the engine bay.

You have a lot of experiance with the Turbonetics kit ... what exhaust do you think is best with the kit? The other two I was considering is the Fujitsubo or the NISMO .

Well I wouldn't extrude hone the manifolds personally. Jethot coat yes.... Extrude honing the manifolds may enlarge the primaries too much causing a reduction in exhaust gas velocity (slower spool up). Jethot coat will definitely help. As for exhuast my preference is to the Fuji personally. Although I did forget to mention the upcoming Speed Force Racing exhaust which can have any muffler you want attached to it.

Really you think? I just wanted to get it deburred so that if flowed as smooth as possible ... not really enlarge it. As I know a lot of people do it with turbo manf. for that reason.

Yes sir....contact Tim over at www.speedforceracing.com

as for the manifolds theres not much deburring to be done. The stock headers are SS409 double wall steel. Not cast iron like most manifolds...honestly...save your money..

Sorry for the 10 million questions .... I saw SSR-Engineering makes a dual HKS Carbon Ti is their exhaust the same as Speed Force Racing .... or did they just work togeather on the Turbo Kit.

not to just jump in here but I am also SERIOUSLY considering going with the Turbonetics ST within the next year. My car is stock right now and looking to do Exhaust now. I was thinking of just doing the Nismo or Fuji Y pipe and keeping stock muffler. From what I've read, It seems like this will work when I do get the ST And gains from the Y pipe alone could be just as good as complete cat back exhaust anyone have any insight on this? Thanks!
