Default Aem Cold Air Into A Short Ram

Is It Possible To Remove The Half Of The Aem Cold Air Intake That Goes In The Wheel Well. I Want To Make It A Short Ram By Just Leaving The First Half Connected To The Throtle Body.

Just cut off 2.5" from the end of the tube where the air filter attaches and use that 2.5" piece to connect the air filter to the intake tube. I would also suggest getting a Popcharger heatshield due to the engine heat. Here's a pic of the mod before I replaced the air filter w/ K&N.

With the heatshield, I felt no change in hp. W/o the heatshield, it felt like I lost hp. No changes in sound/noise too. It is now alot easier to get to the air filter!

Im Not Buying The Aem. I Have It Installed On My Car Already, Im Just Bored Of It And Im Trying To Do Something To My Car Without Spending To Much Money On It. I've Had My Cold Air For 1 Year And A Half. I Also Need To Change The Filter, So Why Not Try Something Down There While Im On It.

My aftermarket front bumper made it impossible to get to the filter w/o removing the bumper or wheel well. So my AEM is now a AEM-popcharger CAI!

BTW, Fonzy...you type weird. j/k
