vote on custom exhaust design
Okay I have 2 designs drawn up, I can replace the magnaflow mufflers with borla, flowmaster, whatever, I just put magnaflow on there so you'd know what the boxes were. So that you don't have to read all that red type, the first setup is more expensive the mufflers are $212 shipped (for both), and it has more bends so it will probably result in more backpressure. BUT it will have the look of stillen or fuji because of that big rear muffler hanging down and being polished stainless steel. I really like that look, but I also like horsepower... The second is cheaper, $160 shipped (for both), and it has less bends so it will probably produce the most power.
I am going to put an x-pipe in if the sound is too harsh, so don't worry about that. The tips will just be 4" or 4.5" rolled edge, very similar to stock. I have a local muffler shop that I've been to with two previous cars, and sent my friends to, so the whole install and piping will be under $100. The piping will probably be 2.5", I don't think bigger will be advantageous, but if so let me know! Okay well, vote away!
here are pics of the two designs :

hehe sweet, hopefully we can get some good numbers and from the $300 investment come out with as good or better gains as the big boys. my friends are leaning me towards the first design, but its still very uncertain. this should be a really interesting test...

Go with option #1.
If you ever even imagine you might go FI, use full 3inch piping.
With the mufflers on, I'm not sure if it will be THAT loud if you go with 3in piping on an NA car. If loudness is a concern NA, then go 2.5-2.75.

Okay I need universal mufflers that do NOT come with tips on them, so far it's looking like magnaflow is the way to go. Anyone prefer another brand over them? Borla? Flowmaster? Which of the universals without tips is reputable for sound? Performance? Thanks.
