Free modifications for performance?

1. Increase tire pressure by a couple of PSI. Decreases rolling resistance.
2. Wash the engine. Accumulated oil and dirt inhibit heat dissipation.
3. Drive with the windows up reducing drag coefficient.
4. Find a deserted parking lot. Set up some cones. Practice.
5. Clean and oil the intake air filter.
6. Never carry more that a quarter tank of fuel.

Toss the rear wiper and spray nozzel and plug the holes, unless you use the rear wiper? Looks way cleaner

Steal an antenna off a S-2000

I turned ON the rear wiper once in 31,000 miles just to see what it does. Never turned it ON again.

IS300 fits better at the base, don't see why everyone always recommends the S2000 antenna which doesn't flow at the base.

I actually got one that goes to a Acura SUV and test fitted it on a Z. It is a tiny bit wider at the base (unnoticable) but looks very similar to the S-2000.

I like the looks of the Pergin (sp is wrong I'm sure) a lot but I have heard that it sucks on reception. And $30 plus shipping for a little stubby 4-5" antenna seems crazy to me.

you can gut the cats
modify the stock intake box (dont think it does anything but sound different)
remove the rear section of the exhaust (once again dont know if it helps at all.... it'll save weight)
remove the spare and the rear carpet for weight
cut the springs if you want to get reeeeeally ghetto

Pop out the plastic peice behind the front grill on driver side. This opens up the grill where the stock air intake is, allowing more air flow.

lol, i just posted in a forum created just after this one about a cheap exhaust mod. if u look at the exhaust pipe going out of the muffler towards the front of the car, u will see a big flange, this has two bolts that hold the midpipe and muffler pipe together. unbolt the nuts, and seperate the pipes, now place several washers(rings) on the bolts, and bolt up[ the pipes. now there will be a space between the pipes, letting exhaust sound waves out. make sure you bolt the grounding wire back on though(youll see it when u unbolt the flanges). This mod will most likely give u no power, if not take some, but, its a cheap way to enjoy the Z's melody until u can afford a real exhaust system. Definately a Gehhto rig though. Then again, if money is an issue,,
