Default Header Question???

Okay, I am a newbie and I have done a fair amount of searching around for my answer but am still a little confused so I need some help. I'm trying to pick headers for my G and I can get a pretty good deal on DC headers so I'm very tempted to get those and be done cheap.....but I've heard that Crawfords are the best and am also very tempted to bail on the good deal and come up with the extra cash and get the best. A few questions:

Difference in gains?

Difference in sound?

I read on some post that their DC headers hurt their torque, has anyone else heard or experienced this?

Im also planning on getting either test pipes or high flow cats (which is another topic i need advice on if anyone is feeling extra helpful) to most likley finish off my performance mods, atleast for right now. Thanks for helping!!!

DC are Carb legal.
Strup, Alphaworks, DC, Top Speed are all the same basic design each slightly different for what the company wanted.
Crawfords are the best but are expensive and have issues with boiling clutch fluid but I think its only on the track

I've read this over and over but don't ever remember who actually experienced this phenomenon.

I have Crawford headers, cats and plenum along with a Vortech S/C with a 3.12 pulley and I live in Central Florida. Temps have been rather high lately (enough to damn near melt my gauge pod ) and I've driven my car pretty hard. I would have thought if the Crawford/clutch fluid boiling was true that I'd be experiencing it but I'm not.

Isn't this the same question? https://my350z.com/forum/intake-exhaust/141625-crawford-upgrades-what-to-expect.html

It does happen and it has happend to people on this board. I heard that during hard use on the track your clutch pedal will stick to the ground becuase of the boiled fluid. When I had my headers installed Doug changed my clutch fluid with 600 temp fluid. He said that this will take care of the problem.

miaplaya also installed an insulated clutch line recently for anybody who's really worried about boiling clutch fluid.

cfiacco: welcome to the boards! If you're a G owner, wouldn't you feel better knowing that you bought the best of the best? Also, do a search for threads with 'header' in the subject line in this sub-forum and you'll find enough to keep you reading for a couple days.

If you want high flow cats, take a good look at the helix HFCs -- or if you want to stick with crawford, their HFCs are pretty much universally praised.
