Default First Impression of new mods.

OK, gents, here's the first report:

'05 Enthusiast, Silverstone w/approx. 350 miles (total miles on car is 1500) since installation of the JWT Popcharger (me), Nismo cat-back exhaust and RE short-throw shifter with Nismo chrome **** (dealer). My mileage for a combination of mostly highway with some city has increased approx. 1.9 mpg. At a fairly steady cruise of 75-80 mph I'm getting (via the on-board info) 28.5 mpg vs the previous 26.6. I DO notice, via the unreliable butt-dyno, that no low-mid torque is gone and above 3800-4000, it definitly feels and sounds stronger...not a lot, but noticeable. The shifter is SWEET and gives short crisp shifts. All in all, I'm very happy with the mods. Just thought I'd pass it along.

What's the sound like when you stomp on it?

SWEET!!...but it's not real loud. If you listen to the Nismo sound clip in another post it's close....but mine seems a bit deeper. I wasn't looking to make a lot of noise...just an easier breathing motor with a bit of throatiness. I've accomplished that. I am surprised at the gain in mpg at cruise....a nice bonus. I'd have been happy with a break even. Take care.

Sometimes the most simple mods can breath new life into the 350Z. Congratulations.

i thought the rogue shifter was really nice too when I first put it on, now I think it's annoying and am going to try the 350EVO one and if that doesn't make me happy, i'm going back to stock.

I've found that getting into 1st and reverse is a really huge pain. And also when you're driving normal and you're trying to shift medium fast, but not forcefully throwing the stick into gear, sometimes you can grind gears cause there's more resistence with each gear. So you move so fast that you end up grinding a gear because it didn't quite go into gear. Can't explain it. I've just had several times where I know if it shifted easier I wouldn't have grinded a gear just then
