because the price point that this market will sustain is nearly impossible to achieve - either through retaining, or eliminating the drive by wire.

ITB's are a very complex thing to do right - and very easy to do wrong.

IMHO, I just do not think the market is there for a product like this except on a one off, custom done basis.

LHP - if you ever want to get something going with this, I'd be willing to assist, as I've got the spare parts to do it with

Ok. Well I was thinking, if its 6k from top secret, who we all know charges top dollar for all their parts, Im sure it could be done for alot less. Maybe not 50% less, but close.

Im sure with tuning it can be done right, why isnt there a market?

The built engine package that just came out on this board (I forget the company) is asking i think 8k for that setup and people seem to be all over it, so if there was a half-price part setup like ITB with gains comparable (hp per dollar) to the built engine kit, why dont you think it would sell?

I have had inquiries from people wanting to market ITB systems for the 350Z,
and they have not gotten back to me with much,
(as the fly by wire is the big hold-up) ecu stuff.
As for making/designing a system,
I have to have a reason to invest the time and money,
with the inquires to date, I can't justify it.
If there were say, 10 people wanting an ITB system and wanted to put down deposits,
(then there is justification).
As for horse power gains from just adding the intake system,
this all depends on the total engine package,
cams, compression, head work etc.
An ITB system would make all the other parts come together for real power and street drivability.

Example:S2000 Hondas, all the aftermarket bolt on stuff,
does not make real power gains,
untill you uncork the intake system,
then all the parts come together to make some nice gains,
especially in the mid range power where the S2000 needs it the most.

Reving little engine with no mid range torque in stock form.

If people are "really" interested,
email me from my website
