Default Is an inch lb torque wrench really necessary to install Motordyne spacer?

I was going to install a Motordyne 5/16 Iso Thermal spacer yesterday but I couldn't find an inch lb torque wrench anywhere. I've found some online but I was looking to buy one locally so I could return it when I was done with the install. I know thats shady but I can't see paying $200.00 for a tool I may never use again.
I work at a dealership but the mechanics only have torque wrenches that start at 10ft lbs. The instructions for the spacer say to start at 30 inch lbs then got to 60 then to 90. 30 inch lbs is only 2.50lb ft!
The instructions say to use a nut driver if an inch lb torque wrench isn't available. I am afraid to do that because of the posts I've read about people cracking the plenum.
Does anyone know where I can "borrow" an inch lb torque wrench???

i didnt use one with my spacer. i just loosely tightened all the bolts on numerical order by hand. then i slowly tightend each one again in order. finally i went over them again and made them fairly snug with a small socket wrench. no problems after 10k mi

the spacer did not crack that guys plenum, nor will 10ft-lbs(you would strip out before you got there). it was probably due to a bad cast.

you can do the install w/o the tq wrench, butll definitely help in not stripping a bolt. ( i did my AAM spacer w/o the wrench, stripped 2 bolts but managed to fix it, fairly easy to do)

Find a Harbor-Freight Tools outlet, they have some low-torque models cheap...

Thanks DavesZ#3! I am going to order one. I don't mind spending $37.00 for that tool. I was seeing them at other online sites for @200.00. There doesn't appear to be a location in RI, MA or CT so I'll have to wait for it to come in.
I would prefer to do this install with a torque wrench. I am notorious for over tightening things. Whenever instructions say "do not over tighten" I get nervous. Especially when they say do not over tighten but don't specify how tight too tight is!

Make sure to test it on something not on your car and you reconginze the 'click' or 'release' point depending on what type of wrench you get. I borrowed a torque wrench that has a 'let off' when the specified torque is reached but at the 30 inch-lbs setting I wasn't able to feel it let go......snapped a few bolts (not the plenum bolts) before I realized what I did. Click type would probably be better !!!

dude I didn’t use one at all. 💀I forgot you had to do tighten too in numerical order so I just normally snugged them in- now I’m worried

Youtube was only a couple of months old and Bush was just elected to his second term the last time someone was talking about this thread. What a revival.
