Default Borla True Dual Cat-Back

Anyone have this exhaust? If so what do you think, and can we have a sound clip of it. I like the way Magna Flows exhaust sounds, but it's a bit pricey for me. Plus, Borla makes a great product. Thanks in advance

I just had it installed yesterday. It's really great IMO.

I only have 1 (in-car) clip at home although it's fairly quiet and my intake sounds louder.

I will be taking some driveby clips on Sunday. I'll try to post them.

I have it and love the sound and the slightly more aggressive than stock look. Can't go wrong IMHO.

The sound is amazing. Everyone loves it. Totally doesn't sound like those load annoying aftermarket exhaust you see on Hondas.

I have had mine for about 2 years...no regrets, sounds great. It does sound better a few weeks after installing it.

The last time I checked, Borla has the highest HP gains out of all the exhaust out there. I just assumed this is just well known so I guess no one cared to say it. borla claims 23HP and backed it up with a dyno. But that's from Borla so not too many people trust it.

So here is a list from Sport Z Magazine:

PEAK HP:
1. Borla 8.2
2. Stillen 8.1
3. Injen 7.6
4. Nismo 6.3
5. 5Zigen -3.4

PEAK Torque:
1. Stillen 7.3
2. Injen 5.1
3. Nismo 4.5
4. Borla 2.7
5. 5Zigen 0.2

Thanks for the info guys...I think Borla is the way to go. Am glad to hear it's not all loud and exaggerated too. That clip from streetfire sounds great! Now I gotta shop around and find the best deal.

Is there any difference between the Borla exhaust on the Z and the Borla exhaust on a G coupe?? i kno the Coupe exhaust is probably longer, but what i mean is if there is any difference that can affect it performance wise? Such as the Z exhaust might have a slightly larger pipe size?? I heard the Z Borla exhaust comes in 12 different pieces while the G coupe is only 4 different pieces. But that still doesn't answer the question if there is anything different performance wise.

Well, at least for the Z there are 2 Borla exhausts: (1) the true-dual exhaust which has 9 pieces and (2) the basic y-pipe exhaust which has like 3 pieces.

Here they are: http://www.racepages.com/auto/exhaus...z_exhaust.html

As long as you compare true-dual to true-dual then performance should be nearly identical between the Z and G. But if you are talking about a Borla exhaust for a G35 that only has 3-4 pieces then it's not the true-dual.

LOVE it, I am VERY happy with my decision. Add the Pop Charger with some test pipes and it has a SWEET DEEP growl and good performance gains too!

Can't go wrong!

Correct. One muffler, with 2 inputs and 2 outputs.

To be more precise, it's an "X" Type muffler. The exhaust mingles in the muffler. Technically, the Borla is not a True Dual because of this "X" Design muffler.

By saying this , are your saying that any dual exhaust with an X pipe or a H pipe , isnt a true dual ? I've been thinking of getting rid of the two mufflers on the Stillen dual and going with a X type muffler to see if it helps get rid of the rasp [ with test pipes ] and to reduce wieght

Nope

Not what I said. An "H" or a "Y" up near the manifold, actually helps performance. I have put an "H" Pipe in my Invidia G200 Dual. What I'm saying is, that any exhaust with a any type of muffler that mixes both exhaust paths is not really a True Dual.

I don't think you plain is a wise one. You can either replace the test pipes with Hi-Flow Cats, put on Test Pipes with Resonators, or increase the length of your Resonators on the Stillen Dual.

My Invidia System has absolutely not rasp.
