Not Just Another Meagan Test Pipe Thread
Finally got my test pipes and had them installed with My PITT Stainless cat back. I knew after modding imports for 15 years that it was gonna be loud, and sure enough, it was ear numbing-annoying loud. Not only that, but there was a lot of rasp throughout entire powerband where there was none prior and the infamous whistling sound at decelleration. All in all, I was very annoyed by the setup.
Solution: Went back to the muffler shop and welded on a Magnaflow 18" straight through resonator like the one's found in the test pipe, not the cheap bomb-shaped ones. Sure enough, rasp was totally eliminated at all RPM's, tone became bearable, however, whistling at decel. still persists.
Power: With the install of the pipes, i can definitely feel the increase in upper RPM band. Z pulls much harder till redline.
Sound: Even deeper than before. It's loud, but for me, it's perfect loud!
