Does anybody know when the AEM cai will be available for the Z? I have been to numerous sites and it seems like some are already on sale and some are only on pre-order.

 

i wonder why spoon runs their racing s2000 with a stock airbox and a modified filter... maybe because regulations... or maybe its because at that point bolt-on are stupid. wait bolt-ons are stupid.

Looking at one of the websits that sell AEM CAI, its supposed to be available in February.

 

bolt on RSXs run low 14s and probably high 13s soon, don't really think they are stupid, just not as productive on some cars. Ask LS1 guys about bolt-ons and if they think they are stupid.

no I can answer that fo you, its simple really, heres a little math.

FI is the only mod worth doing right? well aside from nitrous for the quarter mile crew, lets talk real racing tho.

the Greddy turbo is currently producing around 100hp, and runs about 7000$ give or take after instalation. that is 70$ a hp.

now take the shitty intakes, 4hp for 250$. i mean damn, that 61.5$ a hp.

so now you should understand why intakes are a stupid idea. cause I mean... well wait a sec; these numbers seem to prove SOMEONES been talking out of their misinformed ***...

an intake might give you 4hp, but so does driving in cold weather. you get about 1hp for every 11degrees. so you just have to move from LA to northdakota. thats a real cold air intake. foo!

bolt ons is a universal thing, any kind of car owner does it. that would be boring if we just left the car stock, cleaned it when it's dirty and change the oil when needed.

He's here for a reason, cause if he didn't believe in bolt ons or fixing up cars, then why come to this site?

 

Do a search for his posts and you will see he has pretty much been talking smack all over this forum. Insults and name calling are the name of the game. In a perfect world he would just be ignored, which is what I will do from now on.

Bolt-ons are good and bad, like the DC Sports CAI for the RSX is very good, since it adds 20HP(!) to the wheels, but then some bolt-ons like fart cans on hondas are just stupid. Also, bolt-ons to a certain degree doesn't really do THAT much, most intakes + exhaust + header = average +10HP, but will cost about $1000, $100/1HP is kind of expensive.

 

Isn't this the same guy that was telling us that turbos are stupid, and NA is the way to go? And now he's telling us bolt-ons are stupid?
