Default custom exhaust eh?

ok get this

i called my local muffler shop to see what theyd charge me for my manifold back full exhaust work over, but he told me about a custom job they just did on a g35

3 in cat back true duals with x pipe with 4 in corsa viper tips...and i believe corsa mufflers

i know corsa makes kick *** exhausts for the corvettes and vipers and im very curious now, I was planning on getting full topspeed and kinetix components but if this sounds mean i might opt for it instead. we shall see.

im gonna go buy next week and hear the clip theyve got a take a look at the dyno chart

what do yall think?

I had a Corsa exhaust on my '99 Corvette. Beautiful tips and great sound, with no resonance inside the cabin.

With a custom exhaust at least you'd be unique. I'd wait to hear the soundclip. Maybe you've stumbled onto the next great 350Z exhaust system!!

A cat-back such as Injen Super SES Cat-Back Exhaust System has proven performance by the manufacturer, and verified by hundreds of 350Z owners. With a custom set-up, performance is at best a guess. What quality assurance procedures are in place to make sure each system is exactly the same?

david... thats a biased answer.. u got injen ses
a custom straight dual set up should produce at least same as cookie cut systems if not more...

logics prove that the less bends the easier(freer) the air flow produce more hp

also... it would be difference, unique, special...(NOT COOKIE CUT )

I hope you're not serious... 3 inch duals on an N/A Z?

that's even overkill for a boosted Z

say goodbye to low-end torque forever

besides aps is 2.5 and there is a gain in torque...another half inch wont be catastrophic

hmm there might be a slight issue, i dont think that corsa makes universal mufflers, in fact i think they pride themselves on the fact that each muffler is custom built to the car, so its not one series of muffler with different piping... just find out what mufflers they plan on using. im going custom too with 2.5" piping and an X pipe, using HKS Hi Power Ti mufflers. custom is definately the way to go, I won't let anyone tell me about all the "testing" that goes into these other systems making them so much better. its tubes and mufflers man, make them as straight as possible...doesnt take a genius. I hope it works out for you, sounds like its gonna be sweet!

Unless your planning on building the block with a TT kit and 550+rwhp 2.5" duals are more than enough. For NA my little 2.25" Injen pipes flow great-look at my trap speeds. Ive even seen an APS TT Z run the Injen TD with its smallish pipes and push 460rwhp with no sign of a bottle neck. I vote for 2.5", but hey its your car....

3" isn't that bad, back in my 240sx I had a 520hp 1.8L motor swap with a 3"-3.5"-3.75" and it was very interesting to say the least. Even on a smaller turbo I didn't miss the TQ too much and I loved the sound!

Add twice the displacement and twice the exhaust piping. Many people on this board would sacrifice a little power/torque for a unique and different sounding exhaust.

First off thats not a Z, so its really not relevant And TURBOS DONT NEED/LIKE BACKPRESSURE, which Im sure you had none of with 3.75" exhaust. We are looking into a guy that says hes gonna do FI-how many guys want/say something and how many do it? For NA now and FI later 2.5" is good. And like I said earlier 3" IMO is overkill, unless hes looking into big numbers in the future.
